Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

My best friend of 50 years is a Trek fan. We came into fandom together as middle schoolers. We meet up weekly for dinner and to discuss numerous things, including Star Trek. He's slightly more positive about PIC3, than I am. Loves SNW & LDS. Hated DISCO and PIC1 & 2.

9 of 10 episodes of Season 1 were good or great. The finale was just painfully mediocre.
I had so much hype for the Cube being a Big Damn Hero moment.

I mean you got Picard. Hugh. Some Data analogue, Seven of 9. And a Cube full of sleeping drones and readjusting drones.

For once, a Borg Cube could be a hero.

Instead it crashes into a planet and is forgotten about.

And then tie in the 09 movie, Borg Cube - BIGGEST FUCKING BLUE BALL THEY HAD A BORG CUBE COULD'VE FUCKING HAD A COOL AS FIGHT FUCKING FLOWERS - and the comics!Borgtech!Narada! to tie in S2. Have Jurati's Collective investigate potentially dangerous tech leftover, or stolen, or being used.

It had a nice update in S1:

Much apologizings if this has already been discussed (and I'm sure it has), but..

Is it true that the parts of the Picard estate seen in TNG ("Family") are the same areas which will ultimately be destroyed in the fire that kills Robert and Rene?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that this is the case. I think I even saw detailed blueprints. But I can't remember where.

Where are Alison, Isa, Santiago, and Evan?

P+ is trying to memory hole S1-2 out of existence! :scream:

I 50% agree with them!

(Joke, joke)

In a recent meeting, Paramount used the Into Darkness poster to represent the Kelvinverse, despite BEY being the more recent movie, and ST'09 being the Kelvin film most positively received. ID is the one that had the greatest box office success, despite receiving mixed reviews.

I think Paramount are focused on what draws the most viewers and critical acclaim. That's why they focus on S3 over S1 & 2.

It also resets the Borg to their 90s standard, though you can argue that's just 'another branch' of the collective as a technicality.

Although the Borg that were left were basically just those that the maimed and damaged Queen from "Endgame(VOY)" could manage to access and control so that they could construct their massive cube and assault Earth. The Jurati Borg probably had a lot more drones and far greater long-term capabilities, but her Collective wanted a peaceful relationship with the Federation.

If you wanted to keep a running tally of every time Star Trek undid itself, we'd be here a fair while. :nyah:
