Oh, I'm sure. But my point is people get almost cultic in their treatment of producers and wanting them to dominate all future productions. I'm strangely ok with one and done. The "crowning" was dripped with sacasm.
I disliked all of the above. Hell, the only live action Trek since 2005 I loved was "The Star Gazer". The only live action season I liked more than hated was PICARD season 2. So, he is a good point of reference for the Berman era fans who especially disliked both the Abrasverse and DISCOVERY.I’ve been listening to RMB. And from what I’ve gathered, he didn’t like PIC S1. He didn’t like SNW S1. He didn’t like ST’09. Whereas I liked all of them. From my perspective, RMB isn’t the best person to promote that PIC S3 is good, since I’ve just not been as grumpy as he has been with Trek from 2009 onwards. Its already been taking some getting used to with this season being billed as building to The Next Next Generation, even though there was already a Next Next Generation already there from S1 & S2.
Terry Matalas definitely stuck the landing with 12 MONKEYS. A good parallel would be the notes BREAKING BAD and THE SHIELD hit closing out. So I'm really not worried about this one. Well, short of a secret reshot ending where Michael Burnham is in a holodeck saying End Program.Currently, there is a sense of déjà vu with PIC S2, where the first three episodes were positively reviewed by critics before the season turned out the way it did. So with S3, based upon the reception from critics, I feel that at least the first six episodes will be good and that it will at least be better than S2, though that’s not a high bar to clear. It does not mean that it will be a perfect season. That has yet to be determined.
It makes sense to be cautious going into S3, though I also understand where the excitement is coming from.

That does not seem smart. But maybe some fans are really that excited.
The material close up looks like the same material from the sickbay beds from the original series.Nice captain's chair. I'd love to have that chair in my office.

Matalas sees Picard season 3 as the proper "last story" for the Next Generation era. "I think the original series had a final send-off with Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country," he tells EW of the 1991 movie that brought back the William Shatner-led cast. "This cast," he says, referring to The Next Generation, "never really had that. So that was the goal from the beginning, to send 'em off in one final adventure that was both thrilling and deeply personal."
And what about the Hagemans? No love for them? It's obvious Terry Matalas loves Star Trek. I think he'll be the main guy going forward if this is really a hit, and it looks like it will be. Mike McMahon probably gets the greenlight for whatever animated stuff he wants, too.
That's different...And what about the Hagemans? No love for them?
For that matter, even Akiva Goldsman is not exactly doing bad with SNW.
