Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

Star Trek Picard's twitter page has posted new photos from the first season 2 shows . The first pictures of are of Q and Picard. One with Laris and the others feature Raffi, Elnor, and Seven with Picard &Agnes Juratti
Instead of just posting a statement, can you also post a link so we don't have to hunt it down.

Yeah, but they weren't originally planning one when they built it.
I know that's the official story, but really, building a new bridge set and creating new uniforms specifically for the Enterprise crew to wear is a lot of time and money sunk into something that was only supposed to be featured for two episodes (in the case of the bridge) or four (in the case of the uniforms).

When asked if there could be spin-offs to Picard, Goldsman also saw possibilities, telling SFX:

Are there things in Picard that could be their own storytelling arc? Or their own storytelling spines? Yeah, for sure. Is that the direction of the expansion of the Star Trek Universe? That turns out to be above my pay grade.

Seven ... spin-off ... Seven ... spin-off ... Seven ... spin-off.

*** fingers crossed ***

That last comment by Terry Matalas is encouraging. I'm kind of torn on whether Lower Decks or Picard is my own personal 'present day' of Star Trek, but I'm glad he feels like the story of Picard's era and its characters is worth continuing after the series finishes and he's apparently hinting that it will.

But then they went than changed them completely for the final show.

Heck they sold some of the Enterprise uniforms.

Stuff like Matalas says - and keeps saying and has been saying for quite a while now - is why I maintain that they’ll most likely end PIC after season 3 but there will be some kind of spin-off to continue the story in some way. I’m even kinda willing to bet that this was the plan all along. I mean the ones in charge of Trek WILL want another 24th/25th century live action Trek show, considering how popular the era is among fans. There’s some serious money to be made here, after all. :)

This seems plausible to me. And they have a natural choice for a new series lead if they do a PIC spin off in Seven of Nine. Jeri Ryan is more than capable of carrying a show as lead actor.

Call me crazy, but I think the Mystery Ship in Season 3 will either be the Enterprise-E or F.

Thanks Danja for posting that Trekmovie article. I saw on twitter that they're almost finished filming episode 8 of season 3 . And Jeri Ryan can hold her own as Seven if they do another Star Trek series. We'll just have wait and see what happen in season 2 with the characters and how their stories play out in a few weeks.

Unless the Ent-E suddenly grew two extra nacelles, I honestly don't think it will be the Ent-E.

Maybe the Ent-F though. They're not beholden to the Odyssey Class, so it could be anything.

if they do a Seven show maybe the guest stars can be Voyager folk?

I don't think the it'll be the Enterprise F because Enterprises tend to have a similar look (when you compare them to other Starfleet vessels), and the new ship seems closer in design to the Stargazer. No reason it can't be an Enterprise though.

Personally though I want the Enterprise E to make an appearance as well, as I'm rooting for the ship to survive long enough to reach its 30s.

I think it will be a different version of the Enterprise from the design pictures Terry Matalas has been posting on Twitter.

Not to mention that the Stargazer has a much more personal connection to Jean-Luc since she was his first command. (For some reason people tend to forget that he’d had a whole career before he took command of the Enterprise-D.) A new version of the Stargazer would be of more interest to him than yet another Enterprise. ;)
