Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

Maybe in 3rd season Picard will figure it out that Michael Burnham is his porpose of life. And not just his, but of all mankind.

Quick, music people: Pre-cover the Picard theme!

Granted, I only play piano by ear, but I did study piano lessons when I was in third grade (I promptly quit after two or three practices, a fact I sometimes regret) but I remember the notes easy enough with the help of the internet, so when I have time I can try to play the page he has provided. Granted, though, due to it being a single sheet of music, there won't be much music to play. Maybe a few seconds worth, depending on various factors.

EDIT: The pic is too blurry, and I can't make out the woodwinds section notes. Sorry! :(

The TOS Set Tour in Ticonderoga, their emblem now matches the Starfleet Command Logo seen in the show

I would really like to see some 24th century ships done up with modern production values.

What would the Discovery Starfleet look like, give another 100+ years?

If Eaves gets his way, it'll be a bunch of Primary Hulls with cut outs and no obvious nacelles.

:barf:

The sets in the TNG movies looked fine, I'd like to see something like that. I hate the sterile feel of the Discovery's ship and how "open" the bridge is, a bit like a "bigger" version of the Akiraprise. I don't want any Federation ships we see to be metallicish, update the interior a bit but keep that Voyager/Defiant/EntE aesthetic.

The Discovery bridge and the NX-01 bridge look nothing alike. You're just lumping two series you don't like together. The NX-01 bridge looks cluttered and has a gray interior. The Discovery bridge looks spacious and has a bronze interior, making it look much warmer. The NX-01 has physical buttons, all kinds of random nick-nacks, uneven paneling, and really isn't my style. The Discovery has all touch screens, has even paneling, and the kicker: two stations in front instead of just one. It's sleeker and much better looking than the NX-01.

So it's not even close. If anything, the NX-01 bridge looks the most like the Defiant's bridge. If there were another bridge I'd compare Discovery's to, it would be the Enterprise-E's. The only difference is the Discovery's bridge looks less busy than the Enterprise-E. But TNGers should love how spacious the Discovery bridge is because the Enterprise-D's bridge was also spacious.

The Discovery still has the metallic look that Enterprise had about it that I don't like. Makes it look cold, that goes for the corridors too. Its horrible, the TNG era ones always looked more comfy with carpets and plush walls.

Okay, that's fair. I'd chalk up "more comfy" as being the difference between the 24th Century and the 22nd/23rd. So it still works in broad strokes. Things become more plush looking as the centuries pass.
