Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

As disappointed as I would be not to see Ent-E turn up in some capacity, someone told me the Ent-F turned up in the "canon" comics so I could imagine the final season being somewhat of a backdoor pilot for an Ent-F show.

It would basically be a 25th Century Disco.

Raffi living at Vasquez Rocks hitting up snakeweed, a lifestyle only a synth can endure.

Humans can endure that lifestyle too. Whether or not it's healthy is another question.

I like to think Michael Chabon isn't going to make Picard a 1:1 copy of Battlestar Galactica and just that they're going about the same theme differently. But if Musiker were a synth, that would be a bridge too far. That is BSG.

But award-winners don't win awards by being hacks, so I don't think this is the route Chabon is going to go.

I like both IP's, but I prefer to keep them separate from each other.

Comparisons do nothing but point out the flaws in either and I want to enjoy my choices of entertainment, not rip them to shreds.

What life is that? She looks to have a decent home, I'm sure she has a replicator to take care of her meals. Seems like a pretty sweet life for a washed up junkie.
Being outcast from society and a loser who was rejected by all her peers in starfleet

Yeah, too many new threads with two-sentence opening posts. I've merged two of them into the General Discussion thread, which is a good place to post two-sentence thoughts.

But not when compared to the prestige she had when attached at the hip to a shining beacon like Picard.

Having everything one needs to survive on a daily basis is not always conducive to being happy with the way one is living.

I'm thinking Musiker might be an augmented human like Bashir and his pals. Would explain why she's brilliant yet a messed addict and why she got the boot once Picard resigned. And this would be very Star Trek.

I don't rule out what you say, but...

Getting into areas I don't want to talk about. I know people with histories who could come up with pretty brilliant stuff. Which made their problems so much harder.

I agree that survival is not necessarily living. I think the last time Raffi felt she was living was when she was working with Picard. And I'm pretty sure he probably knows that, which is why he cut all ties with her. Cruel, yes, but he was in a very, very bad place.
