Also, as time and technology progresses, shouldn't stations and displays look less busy and cluttered rather than more? TNG pulled that off with the bridge of the D vis-a-vis Kirk's Enterprise.
Ask Mike Okuda, he designed the displays for TNG and Picard Season 3

Loved the scenes with Laris. Orla Brady in those Romulan ears just does it for me. Should Irish brogues become the new default Romulan accent? I really felt bad knowing we aren't going to see her again for most if not all of this season.
I hope she's in the finale.

The less said about Raffi, the better. Of all the characters they had to bring back from the first two seasons- really?
She's a fan favourite, and she's playing a role here that fits what we know of her already from Season 1.

The command climate aboard the Titan is pure poison. Realistically, 7 / Hansen would have been transferred off long ago. The captain hates her, and vice-versa. It's unworkable in real life, and in fiction as well. The public displays on the bridge are unacceptable, and a great way for a captain to spoil / ruin a batch of promising young officers. I can tell you with certainty from my years in the Navy that a commanding officer who is out of bounds will soon have a wardroom that is just as out of bounds. Juniors follow the example set by their seniors. The disrespect shown by this captain towards 7 and Picard highlights an emotional immaturity that renders him unfit for command. (Echoes of Disco). In short, he makes Captain Jellicoe look like Picard by comparison.
Star Trek isn't realistic when it comes to this tuff, never has been. McCoy should have been kicked off for his racism against Spock but he was still there.

Notice the Shrike lurking in the background :D
From Hyperion?! Where?

If Crusher's son is Picard's son... that's one of the oldest looking 20-year-olds I've ever seen. He looks Hollywood 20.

Not that I'm complaining. Casting someone older probably means we'll get a better performance out of him.

It seems this term memberberry is pretty arbitrarily defined. I'm assuming the member part of the word is like in remember.

Sometimes I think about how if fan complaints were transferred to the real world, coincidences, or running randomly into an old friend (accidentally or intentionally) would be derided. Like, I visit Chicago, and I call up an old friend who moved there a few years ago, and she makes an appearance as a result. What fanwank!

I don't know if it's actually a real word. It came from a South Park episode and just stuck.

People can't tell the difference between "building upon previous material" and "having something for the sake of it". The former isn't a "memberberry" (couldn't you people have come up with a better word?), the latter is.

And guess what sequels do. Are you ready for this? Stay with me now: They build on previous material! Shock and awe!

If you want something original then you shouldn't be watching something that's a sequel series! In fact, if you want to get technical, PIC is a sequel to a sequel, if you count the series it's a sequel to (TNG) as a sequel series.

Speaking of nebulous terms, I've never understood this one. What is the distinction between this and popular? I used to think it meant popular within a subgroup of fans, but I've seen it refer to extremely popular things.

Where was she during season 2?

9 months after The Naked Now, when we always thought that Bev and Jean-Luc did not have sexual intercourse, because they were way too old.

It was built more as a spin off, not a sequel. It was built on showing Picard in the later years of his life. The only reason why the TNG cast is here is becasue of the response of the first two seasons.

I don't think it had to do with the response. Terry said he had wanted to do this for a while, even before the series started.

I also remember Patrick saying in an interview at one point that he wanted the show to stand on its own more before bringing back more former cast mates.

Though he never wanted something like this, at least during Season 1.

Can't remember the last time I rewatched an episode... the same day I first watched it. The music really adds to the rewatch experience. The LCARS. Seven and Shaw talking with LaForge about the unauthorized shuttle launch. Something so simple we've seen several times before, but it just seems so spot on.

And, sooner or later I'll get the contrast and color saturation settings just right on my TV...

The Titan exiting space dock scene is also a call back to the scene of the refit 1701 being piloted out of space stock by Lieutenant Savik.
Not to mention the music: while the theme is completely different, the strings arpeggios are very similar to the ones in TWoK!
With the Garrett statue I’m really hoping that leads to that certain fan theory being correct.
Didn’t they say that Denise Crosby was appearing?

Yeah, I thought mystery guy had something to do with the conspiracy because didn't he drop an Ent-C model into his drink when Riker and Picard leave? It was dark so I couldn't really tell if it was -C or -D but if it was the -C then it and the Rachel Garrett statue make me think this conspiracy has something to do with Yesterday's Enterprise.
I’m almost sure it was a D.
