Did anyone else get the impression that wasn’t Soong’s biological daughter but rather a failed Augment from the Eugenics Wars? Her condition doesn’t seem natural.

Soong didn't seem too keen to discuss the mother when she asked about her in the pool - or am I misremembering? I know he was evasive when she asked about his associate. In any event they established the mother isn't around anymore.

But yeah, that's a hell of a condition.

He should have been named Levi Soong. He's all about jeans!!!

There's real-world conditions of having severe reactions to sunlight, usually called "allergic to the sun." My father has it, he devlopes a burning rash on the exposed skin.

It has varying levels of severity, those on the extreme end can't be in sunlight for even short periods of times and have to live special isolated lives with special filters on windows and only coming out at night.

The show here takes it up to 11 and then breaks the knob off, but it's not that far-fetched.

I was so convinced the French Cop was going to be assimilated, then it turns out Jurati was low-key assimilated! Then I thought back to Oh mind-melding with her and I thought to myself, "Oh no, not again... " Poor Jurati.

Like that they have the song Fly Me to the Moon. It makes me think of Neon Genesis Evangelion.
There are several assimilated cops in one of the trailers, IIRC

we still have the “Vulcans” that were in the woods that are going to probably play into this somehow. What if Q is sending Soong after them and that’s what leads to the Confederate future we saw? Try as I might, I just can’t figure out how Picard’s ancestor not finding a sentient microbe would lead to what we saw.
Perhaps finding the first extraterrestrial lifeform summons an earlier first contact with the Vulcans, which means WW3 doesn't happen, and it turns out WW3 is required for all of humanity to learn to be peaceful and progressive.

It’s just part of Picard’s test
it's not a test
