That's right, Raffi and Elnor knew him for ~15 years

And both characters are emotionally open, especially Elnor, who had just reconnected with the father figure who abandoned him, who told him he was proud, and was then dying. For anyone in that position, let alone one raised in the Way of the Absolute Candor, bawling like a baby would be natural.

They really dropped the ball on Narek there. Also Jurati better be going to prison. Preferably a Romulan one.

KRAD is going to be furious that Agnes seemingly gets off scott free. I give her something of a pass because of the mental programming by Oh, but I would have still preferred legitimate consequences. I figured if anyone in the main cast wasn't going to make it through this season, it would have been her. But nope... She should still be so torn up over Maddox, at the very least, that her kissing Rios like that in the last moments felt like "we need a happy ending for the sake of it."

But that's pretty much my biggest complaint as to how things wound up, so on the whole, it could've been infinitely worse for me.

One line I wish had been in the episode is when Rios tells Seven that he made the mistake of letting another self-righteous, domineering Starfleet Captain into his heart. Seven should have smiled, looked away, paused for a second or two and then said: "I'm guilty of that. I don't regret it."

I'd have preferred if they had developed the relationships better, so that I felt what they wanted me to feel when the time came. Or, even better, they could just not have killed Picard only to immediately resurrect him two scenes later. ;)

It was painfully obvious what they wanted us to feel and when they wanted us to feel it, whether it developed organically from the situation or not. Generally it did not. Sort of like the Magic Handwavium-eter. There when you need it. On command. Earned or not, sensible or not. organic or not. Generally not.

There's something terribly wrong about 'Hate Watching' a TV show and then being miserable about it afterwards.
Life is way to short to waste what precious time we are allotted on this earth.
I just don't understand that kind of mentality.

I've done it when it was literally my job to review a show I happened not to like, and I still kept my own feelings out of my analysis. But that's the only time I would ever even consider it.

It was good. Riker was great. 7 was great. It was good to see Data though I am upset that he was locked in a simulation for decades rather than being uploaded to a body. The golem was kind of what we expected.

I thought the ships looked a little cheap. Maybe the fact that every shot had dozens was to blame.

I was really expecting a cliff hanger and not getting one sort of disappoints me but also surprised me.

I found it odd that they didn't show people's reaction to Picard coming back as a synth.

Oh shit I forgot about the stupid Lore shit. I don't know why anyone thought Lore would have needed a new body. Glad Soong Jr. was just Soong Jr.
