Cool. Don't care.Yeah, but, Captain America picking up Thor's hammer was pretty rad.

No, no, no. The Klingon Empire is the Soviet Union and Praxis was Chernobyl.
You're getting really good at these nonreply posts. It might have even been worth it to just not bother replying since you "don't care"?Cool. Don't care.

I mean I think there are definitely cases in larger franchises where a writer or producer is giving fans what they want. I do think there is a degree of fan service. Big space battle next week is fan/general audience service. It's a talent I have.
Also, I am trying to sort out were your comment about Captain America came from my comment about fan expectations not influencing story decisions. So, I am vastly confused at the apparent non sequitur.
Yes, but they are giving them what they want in the context of the larger story that they ultimately want to tell. They are not mutually exclusive, but hanging your entertainment and storytelling choices upon the whims of fans is risky at best, and stupid at worst.I mean I think there are definitely cases in larger franchises where a writer or producer is giving fans what they want. Did not Hugh hatch the plan to reactivate the cube? What do you think was going to happen, a dance party?
And the fact that Cap does, I believe, pick up the hammer in the comics, so it's not solely based on what fans wanted. It's a talent I have.

That’s not what I asked. The trailer was released. It was at the end of episode 9 that just aired.
Intersting when someone dislikes an episode it's:Yup. Kurtzman is ruining Trek again.
Also, this episode was the best/worst/biggest disappointment ever.
^^^I am sorry, I couldn’t help but laugh at the thought of Picard season 2 to be Brent Spiner doing impersonations of Patrick Stewart as Picard (He was great doing that at cons) Season 2 will die in an artificial heart beat!
Alas, Chabon has said he is Soong's biological son, and the Lore's story is not being told here since it has been thoroughly told, in his opinion. That pretty much rules this theory out (which I favored as well). However, I could easily see how Lore could have been based on A.I.'s mental engrams, and thus Lore inherited his daddy issues.I'm rolling with Balamas and others theory he's actually Lore, he definitely reads more like Lore, could be unlikely, but at least that's the outcome I want to see.
IDK a better and more accurate line would be:https://www.trekbbs.com/attachments/soong-png.14025/
"Yes, I'm thinking of calling this next one, Infodump. Whaddya think? It's either that or Basil Exposition."
Kurtzman is overseeing the whole franchise, so I doubt he has much input beyond possibly helping develop the initial stories. The only Picard episode he has a credit for is the first episode, which lines up with how this kind of thing usually seems to work. The person in charge of the franchise helps develop the story, usually writes or co-writes the pilot, and then hands it off to a show-runner, who takes over from there. That's pretty much what happened with Greg Berlanti in the Arrowverse. With The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow, he has only one or two writer credits, and a handful of story by credits in just the first one or two seasons.Intersting when someone dislikes an episode it's:
"Yup. Kurtzman is ruining Trek again..."
But when they like it:
"Chabon IS AMAZING!!!"
Here's the issue with that Michael Chabon IS THE SHOWRUNNER <--- He says what goes in the series this season.
Second, Patrick Stewart had a great deal of input front to back for everything in this season.
BTW - The Writing credits for Ep. 9:
Teleplay: Michael Chabon & Aeylet Waldman
Story by: Michael Chabon & Aeylet Waldman & Akiva Goldsman
Alex Kurtzman is nowhere on the writing credits, so you can't blame Kurtzman for this one.
