Why not? They are military officers and it is their duty to report their successes and their failures. And, with the resources of the Federation and Starfleet, Commorode Oh could locate the La Sirena and send that information to Narek.
Heh ... They are actually ROMULAN SPIES that have infiltrated Star Fleet.
What makes you think they have any kind of morals or a sense of duty beyond obtaining their own set goals?

That is odd, because I'd previously looked into making the votes public for the 1x08 thread, and didn't (and still don't, just checked) see the option available. Is there a trick I'm missing?
When I deleted out the current BS votes.........the option to make votes public returned and I ticked the box.

EDIT to add: So if you want to KEEP current votes it isn't possible it seems....only if you zero it out.

Funny thing Lores the one who has had no mention...
Which I thought suspicious right from the first episode, the location of B4 was confirmed, Data was confirmed destroyed yet no mention of Lore at all.

They can't have forgotten about him which probably means we will be seeing him soon enough.

He could have been the one who built Dahj/Soji and also gave Dahj information on Picard so she could find him.

Do you think the Starfleet Squadron be led by the Enterprise-E, commanded by Captain Worf? If the faceoff happens toward the end of part 1 finale, the Enterprise and the Squadron arrival might be one of the cliffhangers....
I really hope this is the case. Would be so nice to see Worf again

The same thing happened in Nemesis, no mention of Lore (aside from a silly line that was in an earlier script).

Just made me realise that I’m surprised the Enterprise-E never detected the synth homeworld with its amazing sensors that can detect positronic signals from light years away.

Chabon answered a question in his "story" of questions about Narek. According to the showrunner, Narek, with the aid of Tal Shiar intelligence, caught up to the La Sirena when it arrived at Nepenthe and followed them closely afterwards.

Chabon has an answer, too, about why Lore and the female android from season 7 of TNG was not mentioned: "Silence is not always meaningful. We have a big story to tell about a ton of characters, all with their own histories, and all of them -- unlike Data -- onscreen, in real time, in all or many episodes. There's only so much -- not much -- room for extraneous or semi-extraneous mentions, and even then you have to weigh whether the momentary gain in information or pleasure for the old fan Is worth the momentary alienation or confusion the new fan. A lot of times, the answer feels like no."

Ah, good to know! And too late for the other thread, I guess.

Given the propensity to cast early votes around here, I feel that all episode grading polls going forward should have public votes.

Oh, one other thing about if we would see Starfleet ships,
Anonymous questioner: Why not let us see the federation fleet at the star base #StarshipPorn
Michael Chabon: Dude, it's not like we're trying to hurt or punish you! This is not that kind of story. You walked up to a ramen shop in a food court and asked for falafel. If you want falafel, go across the court to Pita Trek. This here is Noodle Trek.

This Chabon Guy doesn’t really get Star Trek. It’s all about the ship porn. That’s where they get the money. From selling models of the ships.

I'm pretty sure they're just saving the ship porn for these last 2 episodes (probably including an Enterprise-E or F)
Would love to see an Odyssey class Enterprise F but if we see any it will probably be the Enterprise E.

We know the Tal'Shiar are on the way, it wouldn't surprise me if Starfleet isn't far behind.

Should be a good opportunity for some class spotting for those who like to partake.

I can see who has the current "6" vote. I've seen that name for other early votes.

Probably B4 just leaks at all the seams. It's not as if Data himself would have been detectable by any means during the run of the show, or the movies. Cases in point, "The Most Toys" or "Descent".
