Machines can transmit data easily. It's humans who cannot transmit thoughts and receive them because we dont have a bulit in brain transmitter. There is real world work on neural interface that might lead to sending and receiving information (thoughts, memories). So I find it easy to believe that androids can send and transmit data, or can create a neural interface that allows them to access data. They made a point of saying she somehow picked this up from studying Vulcans. But neural interface could achieve that.

I don't think it will just conclude with the Zhat Vash proven right and Picard joining forces with Oh to carpet-bomb Coppelius or something. Still, I'm quite anxious to see how it will all end, but I'm confident that Chabon is a good enough writer not to undermine his own message.
I think the message should be undermined because it's not a good one. So far this show has shown more compassion for machines than living people. I'm really not sure what that message is.

What info are the Soong robots/Robot Gods missing?

Who even knows at this point? The characters are constantly taking inormation at face value, only for later shocking reveals to undermine what they (and the audience) know, which they also take at face value until it happens again. For all we know, Sutra is also wrong about the meaning of the message and next week it will turn out to have been a recipe for chicken nuggets the whole time.

(I'm not defending fireproof's position here, btw. I just think the show is really fucking dumb and it's not even worth trying to understand any of it.)

Heh...i want the Synths to get in contact with the Great Gods of Synthetic Life only for them to step forward and say to the Synths

"Excuse me synthetic monkeys....where are the photonic lifeforms who called us??" And then Rios' crew ascends to heaven.

They may use the android body/vessel, or Soji/Picard use it to bring Data back. Parts of him seem to exist. If they can get it all (his Katra) in one body, rebooted Data might be able to reach enough of the other synths to convince them to end this.

AI Soong's presence has me more confused as to what happened on that planet then unconfused.
So if I understand it correctly....
-Maddox goes into hiding after ban
-Somehow gets a hold of Lore
-Reprograms Lore to think he is human that ages and gives him the name A.I.
-Both of them start creating new synths. The first few look more like Data (golden skin, yellow eyes, etc).
-They send out representatives to see if ban is lifted. It doesn't go so well
-They then start creating latest generation of synths that is indistinguishable from humans
-Maddox plants two "sleeper spy" synths within humanity, for reasons..
-Romulans learn of these two spies, somehow and go after them

And this is where first episode of the series starts off

By the way...."synthetic solving a puzzle is worthy of being saved by fifth dimensional being" is to "Warp Capable First Contact"

The analogy makes sense and is flawed at the same time. When the Vulcans landed on Earth, their first thought was probably, "Maybe we ought to raise the bar"....equally so "Sutra getting the subspace codes" was an accident.

I suspect Soji will see her compass and realize that Kestra will die too.

Let's not count out the Starfleet squadron. Riker knows the location of the synth planet, and once he talks with Clancy and they realize Picard is a no-show at Deep Space 12, they'll head to the synth planet immediately with the squadron.
A squadron is what, 5 ships? Let's say even it's 20 ships. It won't matter against 218. But in any case, it doesn't look they will be involved much in the battle that's coming up. Of course they probably cut the trailer in such a way as to hide them. You never know..

Wouldn't be surprised if Q shows up during the next episode to reveal that what he put Picard through in AGT was to prepare him for the Romulan/Synth/Tkon? crisis... ;)
