Poor chakotay. When Voyager was in the early stages of development and I heard his characters description, I was thrilled that we were finally going to have an earth human who practiced an earth religion as a regular on a Star Trek show. But then they turn his native American heritage in to a bit of a joke with embarrassing cliches and predictable parables. In the end, chakotay became a boring cardboard cutout due to both the writing and the performance. That said, I still welcome his presence on the theoretical seven of nine spin-off. Not as a regular, mind you. Just a one-off, to see how far apart the two characters have moved away from each other. Suppose Starfleet and the Fenris Rangers came into conflict over some issue or another, and Seven and Chakotay found themselves staring each other down by way of view screens and locked phaser banks. Who would blink first?

I think Beltran himself wasn't all that happy about the direction his character went.

Direct quote from Beltran; (on forgetting lines and if it had anything to do with his character or scripts)

"It is hard to memorize lines that make you nauseous, but Pepto-Bismo really helped".

On if he got keep his costume uniform:

I wanted to keep the uniform, just so I could burn it! :guffaw:

He shoots from the hip and says the funniest stuff.

I don't know that!!!!!!!! Stop making these kinds of insulting assumptions, please!!!

How am I supposed to guess what kind of particular rule you've added to your Island of Dr. Moreau type of list of rules?

I bet you have no idea what I am talking about.

My family has done a lot more against nazism that you could imagine. One of my uncles (on my father's side) is a decorated member of the French resitance (though he was born in Poland). My mother was deported and she escaped toward the end of the war and ended up in France. They wanted (the "enlightened" post-war French government) to send her to Stalin and if not for my father's intervention that's where she would have died in some camp in Siberia, like so many other Polish victims.

Can I have a little respect from you people!!!
Respect is not a Champagne Tower.

Just because previous generations of your family were full of Veuve (pun intended) , doesn't mean that effervescent glory trickles down to you.

You may be fizzy too, but more of the SodaStream variety, than an venerable Grande Marque.

Earn it, don't demand it, mon petite mousseaux

Oh no, please no! I mean, I don't have to watch it, but there are so many interesting characters for spinoffs... Seven, for starters. Of course, that's why they'll probably kill her.

Discofan's concerns have been addressed. We don't need you throwing gasoline on the embers, thanks.
