"Hitler" is a trigger word. I don't care what anyone else says, it is! That's a word that gets people upset because now we've crossed over from fiction to real life. I have grandparents who served in World War II. If I wasn't upset about it, someone else would be. Other people have been. I can't help the way I feel. Neither can a lot of other people.

Saying "Hitler" is saying "I want this thread derailed! I want people to get upset!" Even if that's not the intention, that's still the effect!

Ok, what if I say Mussolini or Pol Pot from now on? Will that be ok with you?

What's the latest in Trek fandom? Brophygate is in full swing with Bruce Maddox having been played by someone other than the original actor. For some, it has an impact, for others, not so much. Will the recasting ever be explained? Will one brave soul dare to pose the question at a convention? Who knows.

What's new for Jean-Luc Picard? Maddox is dead but the mission is far from it. This episode takes Picard and the gang closer to the artifact and closer to Soji. And what of Dr. Jurati? She's been burdened with a big secret, causing her to commit an act where there may be no going back. Has the downward spiral begun? What will happen to her when the gang finds out what she did? And how far down will she go? Or can she recover if someone sympathizes with what she felt she had to do?

Why is Elinor beheading people he could simply stun? Not liking him. Why did Maddox die? What did he do?

In my world, people shouldn't be addressed aggressively, the way you did, for using a single word. I've lost people in the war too and I don't throw it at people's faces every chance I get. I am Polish. My country of origin has been more bombarded during WWII more than most others and then it's been defaced with concentration camps.

And this is the Federation and the future, of course - we've seen that what today would be advanced university studies are routinely taught at high school level in Star Trek.

Indeed.

HARRY: I'm not going back. I hate that teacher and I hate calculus.
BERNARD: Everyone needs an understanding of basic calculus, whether they like it or not.

Harry was ten in that episode. I don't think I did calculus until I was 16.

Use the report button if you have a problem........you know how it works.

I think Garth might be quite new to the board ;)
