Finished the episode. Looks like this show has settled into its rhythm. I'm giving it a 7.

They're up and about. Though I think Laris and Zhaban probably should've gone with them. I don't think they're safe at the Vineyard, but we'll see.

And Musiker is right. They should've done a check on Jurati. Who knows what Oh might've done during her interaction with her? A mind-meld. A tracker. Anything.

Looks like I've voted with the plurality again. I'm kind of with the camp saying that the first three episodes would have worked better as a 2-hour double-sized premiere, although I'm not quite clear about how I'd cut it down to that size.

I guess I (as a newbie) am in the minority? I like the way it's rolling out. Nothing has felt "padded" or anything like that. Getting to know lots of great new characters. I cannot imagine cutting any of it out.

I wonder if Oh's sunglasses were deliberately in the scene to show that she is a Romulan (Vulcan' inner eyelid anyone.?) and who or what Soji's mother is? Android too? Silly questions I know, but I still wondering...

Spoiler of a possible future major plot point concerning Oh taken from a January Picard promo below:

One commercial prior to the show premiering showed Jurati crying (with what looked like Oh standing near her (it didn't show Oh, but you could see part of the uniform) and Oh mind melding with her. They were inside. Could mean Jurati is not working with Oh, could mean she was supposed to help Oh but decided not to after getting close to the crew so Oh takes the information, could mean neither, or I could be wrong about the promo. Anyone else remember seeing it?

The term battleship have never been used by Starfleet
Military log, Combat date 43625.2. While investigating an unusual radiation anomaly, the Enterprise has encountered what could almost be called a ghost from its own past, the Enterprise-C, the immediate predecessor to this battleship.

I do think you’re on to something there. I imagine this will be a flashback at some point to show what happened to Agnes to get her into place aboard Rios’ ship and that Oh had something to do with all of this.

I do not believe STO is canon from what I have read. "Memory Beta"-type stuff. But you never know when they will pull something into canon!
Its not but the game makers are rapidly changing the game to fit Picard. Seven of Nine in her Picard appearance hairstyle just showed up in a new mission

And "Oh oh oh O'Reilly Auto Parts!"

And um
The alias of Doctor Who's latest Master. Which opens up a whole case of cans of worms!
I pointed this out some time ago--
After watching the episode Spyfall of Dr. Who, this came to mind...

Commodore Oh: Oh, come on, Admiral, catch up. You can do it.

Picard: Ohh!

Oh: That's my name, and that is why I chose it. So satisfying. Admiral, I did say look for the cyborg leader. Or should I say cy-BORG leader? Hi.

Picard: You can't be.

Oh: Oh, I can be. I very much am.

In the first three episodes, we've seen most of what was in the trailer released in July. It took from April to October 2019 to shoot 10 episodes. They would've been done shooting the fifth around the time the trailer was released. Assuming they only had footage from the first four episodes available when they started editing the trailer, I'm guessing Seven shows up at the very end of the fourth episode.

Maybe after Picard gets Elnor to join his crew, that's when Seven shows up and says, "What the Hell are doing out here, Jean-Luc? Saving the galaxy?" I'm calling it now.

I'm guessing Seven shows up at the very end of the fourth episode.

Seems to be a bit of a theme with this show. Narek showed up in the last scene of Episode 1, and Raffi had like 30 seconds of dialogue at the end of Episode 2.

I really wonder if they do this for title credit reasons or something. IIRC the way actors' contracts work the main cast gets paid even in the episodes they don't appear in, so it can't be that.

Thanks for posting that! Looks like my memory was a little faulty. The mind meld scene looks outside. Here's another trailer that looks to be from the same scene and shows Jurati crying/upset next to Oh at :20 - :21. :

Yes i read the comic prequel where Raffi is on the verity, but could she have been on the enterprise, especially regarding her use of jl?

Its a cut scene, but could Raffi have been Rikers successor on the Enterprise E? Riker pranked his successor into saying that Picard liked to be addressed by first name. Although that scene was cut and the successor was a different character, and a man, i have no problem with that scene being canonized and changed to be Raffi instead of the other guy.?
