Nah, we totally should have picked up exactly where Picard left off. Walking down the hallway of the Enterprise-E. Despite the fact that it’s been decades. People can’t change. They can’t evolve. Situations can’t change. If we saw a character at one point in time, no change can occur. Because damnit! Canon!

The less we see of Oh and Rizzo the better. The way these 2 characters are written and acted are too much mustache twirling, always seem to be threatening whoever they are talking too.

Zhaban and Laris on the other hand are always nice to see.
You need gradients of characters. Some pure good, some pure evil, most somewhere in between.

What was going on with those ears of Oh? They seemed so Dumbo like. Those shades didn't help. Overall she looked kind of ridiculous in that short scene.

So did they say that only freed Romulans are weird while all other freed races which got rid of their Borg parts are normal in their heads? That might support the theory that Romulans are somehow responsible for the making of the Borg. Maybe they are still screwed in their heads after getting freed from being Borg drones, because Romulans programmed the Borg long, long ago and put in a safeguard so that Romulans won't get hurt by the Borg. But then the Borg evolved and forgot their initial program and assimilated that Romulan ship nevertheless, but then that old code got activated and then the submatrix collapsed because of it, because the Borg hurt their creators and it caused an automatic shutdown. And because all of this, because the Borg aren't suppose to assimilate Romulans, the assimilation process didn't work so well and it left the former Romulan Borg drones disordered.

First, an ex-Borg Romulan named Orum appeared in VOY "Unity." He's clearly not "disordered," but is actually a well-adjusted, functional member of the ex-Borg society that Voyager encounters. This seems to run counter to the implication that Romulans and Borg don't mix well, and that assimilation results catastrophic mental/neurologic damage to the Romulan drones -- and ensuing submatrix collapse of the entire cube. So why hasn't Orum gone insane? Could be that the PIC writers forgot about this episode, or it could be that the "disordered" can be eventually rehabilitated.

Interestingly, the cube that assimilated Orum *does* suffer a catastrophic failure and ends up derelict in remarkably similar fashion to the Reclamation Project cube in PIC. In "Unity," it's chalked up to an electrokinetic storm. But are Borg Cubes usually so susceptible to space phenomena? Maybe in the chaos of the submatrix collapse -- instigated by Orum's assimilation -- most of the xB's weren't fully aware of what was going on and just guessed it was an electrokinetic storm, when something far deeper was actually happening. (Wouldn't it have been awesome if this episode just left the cube's failure a total mystery, only to be explained by PIC like 20 years later?)

The other two instances of Romulan Borg are much easier to rationalize. Romulan colonies along the Neutral Zone are presumably assimilated by the Borg in early TNG, but it's quite possible they were simply destroyed. And even if they were assimilated, it's possible those vessels did suffer submatrix collapse upon doing so (maybe Orum was from one of these colonies!). The personality of the Romulan Borg that emerges in Seven in "Infinite Regress" could still end up in a Borg vinculum even if the drone later lost its mind.

Also this show is stupid as **** literally an entire room of dead Romulans and can't prove there is a Romulan conspiracy on earth? Just grab your webcam and show it to everyone online, there, done, or even better, use that dumb magic recording device to show literally the entire fight, again, online, to everyone. But... don't as well okay?

*cough*Holocaust deniers*cough*
