I'd love it if they just really ineptly airbrushed some obviously fake eyes on her face like how they removed Henry Cavill's mustache in Justice League.
Good point! Nowhere was it established in "Operation--Annihilate!" that Spock can see through his inner eyelids, let alone walk around without bumping into things. They automatically squeezed shut to protect his eyesight, but they didn't necessarily work like sunglasses.

Actually, that's probably part of the commentary in that if we go by Laris and Zhaban - not all Romulans are 'fanatics/extremists'.
Yes, the 'fanatics/extremists' exist in that group, but characterizing the entire group (or even the majority) as fanatical/extremest is wrong.
Judge people individually for what they themselves do.
Wait until we see the scene where Soji has a bag of Sun Chips on her bed and Narek almost sits on the thing.

That's true, but it was in Enterprise ("The Forge") where T'Pol stated outright that she didn't need sunglasses because of her inner eyelids. I think she was just trying to show off.

Which she, 85%, absolutely is. But, for the sake of argument, I imagine the eye physiology of Vulcans and Romulans are the same.

Trump says that too though. That's the problem with this as commentary. He explicitly says how much he loves immigration, that not everyone in any group is bad. So I am not sure what this is supposed to be saying, beyond the painfully obvious that no serious person disagrees with. As they have chosen to portray the Romulans here, the security concerns seem more than justified. So Trump policies are sensible, but saying everyone in group is bad is clearly wrong. But who is saying that?

I think it's interesting that people are mentioning all of the things in the show that are a bit similar to now (sunglasses, language) when in "The Cage" they literally had a fax machine on board.
The Cage had all sorts of weirdness that we just ignore due to it being the first production of Trek. Discovery smoothed it out a bit by having Pike be "old fashioned" who didn't like holograms among other things.
@Tarek71 Saying one thing and then having a blanket travel ban while saying that is another thing. All synths are banned period just because some of them went bad. The Fed can say how they see synths as individuals and point to their ruling of Data in Measure of a Man, but everyone can see their actions don't reflect it.
But decades before fax machines were a thing!
