STAR TREK: PHASE II Recasts Kirk

On the one occasion I sorta met Braga he was the WGA intern sitting in on a pitch - by the rules he wasn't allowed to participate at all. My therefore superficial impression was good-looking, young and Byronic. ;)

Sounds about right. :)

I'd really like to sit down and chat to him, Moore and maybe Berman one day. I really, really wish I could have met Michael Piller. But alas....

Ira Steven Behr and his purple van dyke used to frequent the Barnes & Noble I worked at in Los Angeles, but I sadly never got much of a chance to really talk to him.

Oh, Ron Moore. Yeah, him. I spent a few hours with him in his office at Paramount's Hart Building back in 1990. Yes, I'm rubbing it in.

Show off. :)

Out of the lot of them, Piller was the one I really admired as a writer. I miss seeing new work from him.

Piller definitely is on my list of "writers I will always regret never meeting."

I had the extreme good fortune to be on a show a few years ago where I worked for Ken Biller, Mike Sussman, Andre Bormanis and Raf Green for about a year at ABC. And, just a few months ago I got to work with and get to know (albeit briefly) Ken Lazebnik when he freelanced an episode.

Each of them were great fun to get to know and work alongside and brought different but enjoyable sensibilities to their writing. It was a great job even if it wasn't the most glamorous, and I'd do it again too, in a heartbeat if the opportunity came along.
