The wonderful David Warner has died, aged 80.

I had the pleasure of meeting David Warner at DragonCon years ago. Delightful man.
Superb actor. Brought a great deal to every role he did.
He will certainly be missed. RIP, sir.

David Warner was a legend. Even his Star Trek V role wasn't bad, but Gorkon and Madred were awesome Star Trek characters. RIP.

David Warner was one of my favourite actors, and really deserved to be regarded with the likes of Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen as one of the greats of his generation. A man of tremendous skill, he gave even the smallest cameo appearance a veneer of class, gravitas, and respectability. What surer indication of his talent could there be than the fact that as Gul Madred – surely one of the great villainous performances in all of Star Trek – he was reading his lines off cue cards, as he was contracted at very short notice when the original actor dropped out and didn't have time to learn the script? Rest in peace David, and thank you.
Couldn't agree more. His performances as Gorkon and Madred were legendary, especially Madred. RIP Mr. Warner.
Sadly two big passings on the same day. Actor Paul Sorvino who appeared in Star Trek the Next Generation has died at the age of 83. Rest in peace.

The dude had a wild list of credits! I really liked St. John Talbot with his ciggie just hanging out his mouth when we see him and looking permanently frazzled.
Not many people know that Warner was up for a fourth Trek role. Ira Behr wanted him to play Akorem Laan in "Accession". Apparently, he was on vacation at the time and his wife talked him out of it. It's interesting to imagine how that episode would be different with Warner in that role.
Actor and Deep Space Nine director Tony Dow has passed away. Man do I feel old when the kids from Leave It to Beaver start dying.
EDIT: He is gone now for real. Sad way to go with the confusion. He and Tanya Roberts can chat about that situation while he's getting fitted for wings.
