Star Trek passings

Julie Caitlin Brown just announced on Facebook minutes ago that W. Morgan Sheppard passed away. He played Dr. Ira Graves in "The Schizoid Man", the one-eyed Klingon commandant of Rura Penthe in STVI, the Ahab-like Qatai in "Bliss", and the Vulcan elder taken aback by Spock declining acceptance to the Vulcan Science Academy in Star Trek 2009.

He also appeared in two episodes of Babylon 5 and was apparently a close runner up for the role of G'Kar.

He was also the father of fellow Voyager guest star Mark Sheppard.

He was also the Professor hologram in the first season of seaQuest DSV. And he appeared on DOCTOR WHO with his son on the same episode, marking a first for that franchise.

He was an incredible actor, and his son clearly inherited his gift for the craft.

R.I.P., sir.

He and his son actually played the same character on that episode of Doctor Who! Mark as the young man and Morgan as the older. Which was strange really as they looked nothing alike at all despite being father and son! :wtf:

Taking a moment to note that today is the third anniversary of the passing of David Hartwell, who launched the STAR TREK book line at Pocket Books back in the eighties--and which is still going strong today some thirty years later.

Richard "Dick” Miller passed away today, age of 90. A veteran character actor who
appeared in Deep Space Nine, episode ‘Past Tense, parts 1 & 2’ and in
Star Trek: TNG in the episode ’The Big Goodbye'.

Ray Young 1999 Morka/Visionary

Mr. Young was in one of my favourite Saturday morning shows as a kid: Bigfoot and Wildboy. He was Bigfoot. Didn't know he had passed away.

RIP, Mr. Young.

Morgan Woodward (Dr. Simon Van Geldar in "Dagger of the Mind" and Captain Ronald Tracey in "The Omega Glory") passed today at the age of 93.

The only time I've ever seen Morgan Woodward with dark hair was when he played Martin the blacksmith in the Planet of The Apes episode, The Horse Race! Strangely enough he was with Wright king's son, Meegan, in that one and later on he would act with Wright King himself in three episodes of Logan's Run as Morgan and Jonathan, two of the elders that ruled the City of Domes!

Morgan Woodward is the only actor I've ever seen that played a character NAMED Punk (on Dallas), but never played a character that WAS one. Even the nice guys he played were tough as nails.

Other actors I missed that passed away were Cole Chipman, who passed away in 2015, who played an alien guard in 'Star Trek Enterprise', episode 'The Xindi'.

Also, Harry Boykoff passed away in 2001, who played several roles in various Trek series such as 'Eddy' in 'First Contact'.

Beverly Swanson passed away Feb. 22nd 2019 of colon cancer, age of 66. She played a prisoner in the Star Trek Voyager episode 'Faces'.

Actor Joe Knowland who appeared as the antique store proprietor in Star Trek IV the Voyage Home has passed away at age 88.
R.I.P.
