Star Trek passings

Memory Alpha keeps track of anyone with a connection to Star Trek. Since I don't know producers, directors, carpenters, stuntmen, electricians, writers, etc..., I prefer to keep track of the actors, whom I know something about. Also, Memory Alpha is not always current with updates and they rely on others to upload that information. I do my research online thru dozens of different sources. There are hundreds of actors that have left acting and gone on to new pursuits and Memory Alpha rarely, if ever, keeps tabs on these people. I do not submit to Memory Alpha due to their requirements for submissions, which are tough.

Where's Marc Lawrence? I recently came across the factoid that he's said to have been the earliest-born actor (1910) to have appeared on either TNG ("The Vengeance Factor") or DS9 ("Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang"). Often cast as gangsters (including in his DS9 appearance), he's most recognizable to me for his roles in Diamonds Are Forever and The Man with the Golden Gun. Passed in 2005.

Trek Today finally got around to posting the news about Stewart Moss having passed away while Memory Alpha had it posted for at least a week now yet ImDb has yet to post any news.

Bruce Gray passed away Dec. 13th, age 81. Played two roles in three episodes of DSN, TNG and Enterprise.

Jon Paul Steuer, aka: Jonny jewels, aka: Alexander Rozhenko of TNG fame, who played the son of Worf/Kehylar has died at 33
- confirmed -
Total having passed with TNG - 112

News about a death of an actor from the series sometimes makes me watch an episode bit differently because when watching, I know that actor is dead...
Maybe there should be own section on this forum for information like this.

Reg E. Cathey passed away Feb. 9th, 2018 of lung cancer, aged 59. He played Klingon Cmdr. Morag in TNG's 'Aquiel '. Total lost from TNG is now113.

I forgot to post that David Ogden Stiers passed away March 3, aged 75 of bladder cancer. He played Dr. Timicin on TNG's episode 'Half a Life' as well as Major Winchester III on MASH. Brings my TNG total of passings to 114.

Was esp. sad to hear of Stiers' passing. He was great in so many varied roles, and brought something special to even small roles, like the dad in "Better off Dead" or the mayor in "Doc Hollywood".

I kind of think that if an actor has appeared in more than one Trek series, they should be listed in all of the series in which they appeared. But that's just me.

My feeling is the person is dead. Why mention that he's died multiple times?

This is the worst part of Star Trek, it is safe but it feels such as removing the wheels off a favorite transportation of a planet surface and deciding for a communicator batteries will function giving the device time hoping to reset to life yet again when empty instead.

Stephen Hawking passed away today, March 12th. Played himself on Star Trek TNG in the episode 'Descent'. TNG deaths total 115 now.
