Star Trek passings

I just heard someone point out how she was very rarely the lead but she was always what you remembered.
And while very much the character actress, her name was about as famous as her co-stars.
Were any other TREK actresses beside her, Michelle Yeoh or Bujold ever Oscar-nominated?

Peter Antoniou passed in 2023, only 53. He played the Klingon helmsman in the DSN episode 'The Emperor's New Cloak'.

Kirsten Dunst. Whoopi Goldberg. Virginia Madsen. Alfrie Woodard.
C'mon guys.

Alfre. But point taken. But Darby take out. She did not receive an Oscar nom. She DID win a 1969 Best Actress award for that year....from me, much later. I also gave it to Hailee Steinfeld in 2010 for the same role. Digression ended.:borg:

I nominated Nichelle Nichols for her controversial TRUCK TURNER supporting role in my 1974 awards. She won. In reality, Ingrid Bergman stole her chances that year. Digression ended. :borg:

She left an impression on me when I viewed "Assignment Earth" back in '68.

A few years later, I recognized her from Trek when she appeared on shows such as "Sonny and Cher" and "McCloud."

The first production listed by the Wikipedia filmography was "Fun In Acapulco" (1963), the last was "How To Marry A Billionaire" (2011). Retired in 2011 due to multiple sclerosis.

There have been a couple YouTube videos about Assignment Earth:

1. The Lost Star Trek Spin-Off

2. Assignment Earth the Star Trek spin off series that never happened

A truly great guy to be around. He was one of the first actors I met at my first DragonCon in 2006. We were talking for a good half hour. After telling him how much "THE VISITOR" meant to me, he told me his own personal story of why he did that role. Made me appreciate the episode even more. Over 470 actors/actresses I have met, and he remains one of my favorites I ever talked with. Wonderful actor.

Big guy... big heart.

R.I.P., sir.
