I thought maybe "chair capes" meant the padded back extensions on the TOS bridge chairs.

It's bad enough the (how old are you?) looks I get when people see the few Trek items I have around the house, but I avoid that cheap looking junk like the plague. I much prefer the 1970's cheap junk (like my 1977 Cheinco wastebasket and 1975 Deka mug and cereal bowl)
