For this thread I am speaking rather out of ignorance since I haven't actually played Star Trek Online yet, but hope to in the near future once my income is sufficient. Most of my information comes from websites relating to it (eg. Wikia). As far as I know, you can play as either the Federation or the Klingon faction, which seems rather limited. Within these two factions, you can be one of the following races (besides one you created): Federation: Andorian, Bajoran, Benzite, Betazoid, Bolian , Human , Saurian, (Joined) Trill, Vulcan , Ferengi, Klingon , Tellarite, Pakled (WTF?!), Caitian, Rigelian, Liberated Borg Klingon: Gorn, Klingon , Lethean, Nausicaan, Orion, Joined Trill, Liberated Borg As for playable factions, I feel that there should be more freedom of choice here. For example I think that the Romulans, Cardassians and Breen should be playable factions. However I don't think the Borg should be one, since in the Collective there isn't much opportunity for career advancement. I also don't think the Undine or Iconians should be playable factions since they are too powerful. As for races, here are some which I think should be playable, and some of which I'm surprised Cryptic missed out: Deltan, Efrosian, Arkenite, Napean, Takaran, Xenexian, Hermat, Gallamite (the aliens with transparent craniums) Katarian, Grazarite, Tamarian, Selay, Antican, Xindi, Brikar, Kasheetan, Betelgeusian, Boslic, Selenean I also think the possibility of non-humanoid characters should be a viable one. Here are some I would add: Nasat, S'ti'ach, Horta, Pakhwa-tanh I also think the possibility of adding Gorn and Orion to the Federation faction should be possible, as well as being able to create female Letheans, Gorn and Nausicaans. What do you think?
