I couldn't resist - I just had to run the Kobayashi Maru simulation at ESD.

LOL, I suppose you're right. Don't see myself going to that extreme, but I guess enough players would that it'd ruin the game.

Just like the players that have all Tac or all Engr away teams. Those just seems boring to me. Almost all my away teams are Engr/Sci/Tac plus the additional BO being the same profession as the character. So Doc Lee's away team is 1 Engr (Fab), 2 Sci and 1 Tac (Sec Off). This has a Sci slant, but it's a good mix and fun to play.

One thing that is still unclear to me and I hope you guys have the answer. Are there going to be 3 Odyssey variants to choose from in the C-Store or is there only one Odyssey in the C-Store that unlock all 3 variants?

There's a Kobiyashi Maru simulation in ESD? Where?

Ouch. The only option that makes sense is the 3 ship pack for 4000 c-store points. Good news is my tactical, engineer and science officers are each going to get one ship. Bad news is my current plan of saving up 2,000 points needs to be extended for another month.

Only only way to really purchase the Odyssey-class is the multipack and at that price I just can't justify it.

Am I the only one left a bit unwhelmed by it?

It is Cryptic, trying to get the most money out of it.
We could hope that they will reduce the price when sale numbers go down.
But Cryptic doesn't grasp the concept of value loss of older stuff over time, same as the players who cry for a refund every time something goes on sale.
It's a miracle the lifetime sub ever went down in price at all, and that's only because FTP kinda ruined the reasons for getting one in the first place.

Got 2 Rare Borg Shield Techs from STF drops today. GAAAAAH.

Funny thing on both occasions my team failed the optional objectives.

I'd much rather have a new mission. Hell, I'd even pay for it (Or at least raise the dilithium for it. :))

That's crazy. They will be just flooding the market. Of course some players will want to own ever ship that's put out.

To be honest, I'm happy with the current ships that are available. The only thing I'd like to see is a carrier or hybrid carrier. Although we never saw any in the shows or movies there is plenty of official gaming material that includes that type of ship.

That would be nice, although I'd imagine missions take longer then ships, what with story writing, scripting, etc. But if it's just one mission, instead of 5 like with the FE's, I suppose they might be able to do it. Wouldn't want to loose the FE's though.

You wouldn't be playing very long. Cut out all that F2P action and it'll get quiet very fast, because I wouldn't pay to play the FE, and neither would many others.

There's a reason I went technical instead of business...

I'm not saying all the content, just the premium content. But it doesn't matter. Although I don't understand the need to give so much to the F2P players (do other games give this much???), I will probably join their ranks soon. Have to ensure that I have my characters are properly spec'd first though. I've heard that they take away all your bonus respec tokens when you drop to silver.

From what I hear the guys working on ships and the guys working on missions are two different groups so its not an either or thing but more the ships guys finished there stuff first thing.

I for one feel that Admiral level characters should not be in command of 30-40 year old models. At least for cruisers there's the Dreadnought and Odyssey, both of are either brand new or can be considered relatively new in the STO universe's timeline. Not only that, I find it a little unfair that there are now three Tier 5 cruisers but only two escorts and a single Science vessel. And all three ships are just "retrofitted" versions of Tier 4 ships.

Cryptic definitely needs to fill up tier 5 with more escorts and science vessels.
