With the crafting weekend coming up ... over the last few days been working on AP DBB Mk XIV [Ac/Dm] [CrtDx4] - currently it's mark 13, and 100,000 tech points from being mark 14. Thinking either selling on exchange, trading or keeping. Also just crafted another AP DBB mk II [CrtDx3], so I might sell that one after it's finished.
It took me a month or two to sell a CrtDx4 Phaser Beam, and that was after it was gilded.

It's not really worth it, but if you can sell it fast - do it.

Yeah, a bundle would be nice for my Fed officers; I want them each (Fed sci, Fed, eng, Fed tac) to have their own command cruiser.

It's going to be a loooong project, especially since I found out that it is possible to upgrade consoles like the RCS thingy so my cruiser will have a better turn rate. A lot of dil, a lot of grinding, and a lot of time.

But hey, that's the game.

I finished a battlecruiser save not too long ago and thankfully time flew in.

Even at current dil-zen rates (which unfortunately rocketed through the project :/) it'll only take a little over two months for the bundle (assuming three-characters refining max each day) which is easy enough, especially with the Admiralty system throwing dil at you!

My plan was to go for the bundle but I only wanted the Presidio, but... I also wanted a saucer skin. So I figured I'd spend the 3000 saved to see if I like the ship first before saving more to make it look nice :p

That said - I didn't do much console saving as I' was happy enough with the set up to carry it over (for now!)

I've decided I'm gonna sell it, as the prices for this weapon are now around 150 million EC. Easy money.

Nice price! Someone was tailing me, so I had to sell it for under 100mil back when I had mine. :(

I decided on buying a [CrtD]x3 from the exchange, as they were only 3mil, and then got it to epic and [CrtD]x4. Got to mark 12 or so. Hopefully I'll have some EC from the exchange, as I put another epic [CrtD]x3 [Dmg] there also.

Caved today and bought the Command Megabundle with all of my Dilithium on a toon. Still got plenty, so now saving for the next megabundle, whatever one that may be!

Just for fun, I bought the Jupiter in the sale and I must say I am enjoying it so far. I have never used a carrier before [although my main is the Galaxy-X so I am at least somewhat familiar with launching pets].

I have Elite Calipso's and Scorpions on it at the moment and it is certainly fun to watch them all focus on single targets. :)

I've been playing a lot of STF's for Fleet marks with the big upgrade in progress right now, mostly doing Crystaline Catastrophe (Advanced) and Fleet Starbase Red Alert. I'm trying to find others that are relatively quick to play with a good rate of return. Any others I should be playing?

I do pretty much the same.

Defera hard missions pay well (60 marks per mission) but you must have at least 2 more people to run them. 4 missions once a day (20-hour cooldown), each takes a few minutes to complete. The other missions pay less, and take a bit more time (especially doing medium missions solo).

Also, turning commendations in in the Starbase gives 75 marks or so.

So after putzing around the game for a few days, I decided to take TV's advice and reroll.

I already have a few sci ships unlocked (Including the Vesta, I guess, which I don't ever remember buying. )

I remember liking playing sci before, however, I've been reading some blogs that say it's advantageous to play a tac cap with sci ships, especially with access to manuals.

The only big difference I see is ground combat, which doesn't really make much difference to me.

Am I missing something?

My guess is that it is a high end dps thing. Science vessels have fewer weapon slots than cruisers and escorts. This is both a disadvantage and an advantage. The disadvantage is of course fewer weapons means lesser damage output. However from a subsystem power management standpoint, science vessels don't have to deal with weapons power drain because they have so few weapons to begin with.

So you can build a science vessel with a large overcap in weapons power, high auxilliary power and a high power transfer rate. Combine it space traits like auxilliary offense and a tac's captain abilities like Attack Pattern Alpha, Go Down Fighting and Tactical Fleet and you can seriously boost those few weapons to dish out crazy amounts of damage.

Yeah. I just decided to go for it. I'm going to mess around with all the ship styles while I level, and Tac just seems to be the most universal.

I'm going to do all the patrols and fleet actions as I level, because from what I understand the new level curve hits grind walls every now and then. Though, it seems to be that before I leveled all the way to 50 just doing episodes. But I've already gotten stuck in a couple of places (both level 11 and 16 story quests). It wouldn't bother me so much if it wasn't for the fact that most of the patrols are the exact same thing.

In other news, I've done a handful of various Googles over the last couple of days, and this thread has popped up on the first page more than once.

^Yes, most notably there are grind walls above Level 50. ;) The earlier missions, usually your story mission will give you enough points to get to the next level. But I still advise doing the patrols in various systems across the quadrants (unfortunately they've removed the three-patrol wrappers so you just have to go hunt them down now).

I am not sure there still is a leveling grind wall if you start completely over.
If you do nothing but missions from start to finish, you should hit level fifty somewhere around the Cardassian story arc or during the borg arc at the latest. That means you have most of the remaining Borg arc, the Breen arc, the Dyson Sphere Arc, The Delta Quadrant with with Kobali Ground campaign and the Iconian War plus the ongoing new arc to get to 60. That is about 40-50 different missions. So even if you only level up every 4-5 missions on average you are golden.
Keep doing you doff assignements between missions and as soon as you can at the later levels use the admirality system to bridge any remaining gaps. No need for patrols I think.
If you want to earn that extra xp and break the mission progression a bit up in between you can still do them, of course.

The bigger problem during leveling is most likely getting enough gear to keep yourself, your ship and you boffs in front of the difficulty curve.
But you can always ask us for help with that. Most of us veterans should be able to cheaply craft anything you need in addition to mission rewards.

Thanks for the offer, but I generally like to be as self-sufficient as possible.

In other news, I did get a little disheartened yesterday. I got prompted with one of those account verifications when I logged in. I don't know why it didn't ask me for one before and why it is now. The only thing I can think of is I did a system clean-up over the weekend.

In any case, I haven't used the associated email in a few years because of security reasons, and I can't remember the password.

It's not that big of a deal since I'm starting over anyway, I can always make another account, but like I said, I did spend about $40 at the cash shop way back when.

I did make a second account and used it to send a ticket, but I'm not expecting anything.

I'm going to try, but I think it's a "send to phone" thing, and I got rid of that phone around the same time because of said security issue.

I think I'm going to jump back in to this game after a several year haitus. I used to play it religiously (as some of you may remember!) for the first few years, all the way from beta testing... I had a break playing though and came back and my account username had been changed to WilliamofNine instead of Timofnine and someone (I think maybe a Dev, as it wasn't hacked?) had been playing with my account as they thought it had been inactive for so long. Anyway, I tried to get my username changed back and they said that they couldn't do that... So I just didn't bother playing any more. Over my tantrum now so Will give the game another shot and see what's new :-)

^^^
Very odd story that, but go for it. "Several years" likely means a LOT has changed. If you don't have a tier 6 ship yet, the upcoming anniversary event will be a good place to get one for free.
