According to one of the Devs they've known of a lot of the Picard stuff revealed Saturday for a while now. I wonder if they're already trying to figure out how they can fit STO into the new timeline.

I'm really curious if they're going to adjust STO for Picard, or just pull the alternate universe shtick

They'll be at Vegas in 2 weeks, maybe we'll learn something.

It already seems like they're drawing heavily from the STO/Countdown storyline with the whole Romulan/Borg tech angle. I don't think it would honestly take too much to integrate the two. Now, involving every single prior plotline into one interwoven story (Fed/Kling/Rom Republic/Rom SE/Borg/Iconians/V'Ger probes/Dyson Spheres/Voth/Tholians/Mirror Universe/etc./etc.) for a limited-run series could get a little...problematic.

    Too many slashes...

I meant the other way around, STO trying to fit in, not PIC trying to fit.

There was some rumours about changes happening. I remember Captain Geko or one of the other people at Cryptic posted something (or said) thing about it. Can't remember what or when.

Gekko said they would be changing STO's backstory a bit to better conform with ST: P. ST: P still takes place 10 years prior to STO (ST: P starts in 2399 compared to STO's 2409). And Patrick Stewart said ST: P was slated to run 3 seasons (at least that was what he committed to) IF CBSAA finds the return on the series worth it (like anything else.)

And before people start saying "The series could go past 3 seasons..." If it goes 3 - Patrick Stewart will be 82 years old at that point in time (2022) <--- And that's 'best case' if you get the drift.

They have even gone with blue for the apparently captured Borg cube.

    Yes

Yeah Geko said they would address it, but they haven't said how.

I actually think Picard is why everything pre-Dyson was truncated so much - especially for 2409ers.

Is the summer thing being run differently now? No 400 mark starting bonus?

^^ This is correct. There is no 400 mark starting bonus, just the 40 for each daily.

Don't feel bad. It's one of the weaker prize ships. The console is pretty lame and the trait is really only worth if you fly pilot ships. Probably the best thing about it is the heavy weapon that you can just plop in a different escort. The speed thing is kind of gimmicky. I fly escorts better than most and it's just too fast to try to keep Pedal2Metal up. The Bajoran ship from last year can do everything it can do better.

^ I'm kinder glad I never bothered with it now. It was likely that I would be using it. This is the first summer event since I started that I've done nothing.

The Franklin, the Kelvin, the Franklin Starfleet uniforms, the Red Angel suit, Spock's EV Volcano suit from 'Into Darkness', the Kelvin Timeline D7, and what looks like Jaylah's staff from Beyond.
