Yeah, that's why i didn't like the purge, especially since there weren't any problems with lack of available spots to invite new people. If it makes you feel better, i was booted too, and i was the Fleet Admiral ;) But is what it is at this point. If you message an officer in-game, they should be able to add you back in, or if you leave your handle here, someone can help out next time they are online. I got added back in when I logged in and found someone...

I know Scout, you already stated a while back if you were in charge still you would demote me.

not really about that, was totally fine with you taking over since you were actively playing, just didn't like dumping all the old people if there wasn't a driving need to do so. Demoting or booting all of the players that built the fleet, even if they aren't active much anymore, wasn't necessary. You're leaving because not enough people are donating to things, but kicked out people that had on average probably 5-6 years more of donating than the new wave has put in, yourself included. Just saying, could have easily been done as more of a torch passing and less of a coup (even if the old guard didn't notice it happened for a while). Even when you put me back in the fleet, noticed that you stopped hitting the Promote button right below the level where I'd start having any admin powers again. Not that I need them, exactly, but you made sure to retain that control. I wasn't going to be active enough to fight anyone for it, but still.

Anyway, all that aside, it doesn't matter at this point, it happened. Just asking that if you're going to bail out and disband or abandon the fleet (as you said), that you promote one of the former regulars back to Leader so that we don't lose everything when you turn the lights off. Fine if you want to move on, but no reason for the old-timers to lose what they built because someone else took over and then decided to leave. At least a couple of us ought to have a way to get back into it if we want to log in and poke around every now and then for nostalgia's sake (or new content that brings us back).

No reason to demote you, you said you're moving on. Just promote one of us back to leader and leave the keys on the table, and it's all good. Doesn't even have to be me, if one of the other old-timers is still actively playing, please promote THEM to fleet admiral instead. That's how I ended up in charge for a long time, a couple of the original founders weren't playing anymore so I took it on so we didn't lose access (and I was an everyday player for years). If there's no one left from that group, please just a couple of us up top so we have options.

Who said anything about closing up shop and me leaving? Nothing in the fleet is closing and I'm not going anywhere. The fleet is cruising along if not slowly. How did you infer any of that from what I said? Did you read what I posted before you jumped to the fictitious I'm leaving and closing the fleet?! As for your request I'd be glad to discuss it but not in a public setting. I won't be discussing fleet buisness in the open.

Did I miss something? This was the one i was responding to.

Greetings all! Quick announcement for those still active. At this point I'm calling what may seem obvious but our armada is dead. I implore everyone willing to start asking around for a new armada to join, I will do the same. With some luck we can get into an active community and see a revitalization. There is near no dilithium being donated so fleet projects will be limited going forward. The fleet doesn't function without members willing to contribute more than just the easy supplys.

Or maybe you just meant on the KDF side? Will admit possibility for confusion there, as the Fed side is TrekBBS Armada, i think... But pretty obvious where the confusion could have been if you read your own announcement. If you're not quitting the Fed fleet side, all good. 'Not discussing fleet business out in the open' seems silly, though, as this forum is Literally the place we've done that since the game went into open Beta in like 2010. Best part of the game back when more of us were active was that there was ZERO of this kind of drama, we were just there to nerd out and have fun together, no power trips or struggles that I can recall...

All good if you just meant KDF side. To be honest, that side NEVER was very active or involved. Various people tried, but just could never get real momentum. We always focused on the Feds.

Scout, all of your points I have addressed ad nauseam and I'll simply refer you back to those responses. As for the point I think I see the disconnect. I think your confusion is that the word armada in in our fleet name. We are a fleet, when I refer to "the armada" I mean the renegade ships armada, the collection of fleets we belong to. It is a dead armada. I'd like to see our fleet join a new one with active people.

As for the Trek BBS KFD fleet, it's gone and was never really much at all so you are right, focus if on us Feds. Once again the "great purge" was only so our true numbers were not inflated and anyone is welcome back just give a shout. Sorry you think I'm bringing drama, just trying to run and do good by an abandoned fleet. As for the term power trip, oh yeah, I'm dripping with power... You can be supportive or keep pounding the drum. We can agree to disagree if you want....

Ok, that clears up the armada bit, thanks. Was just worried that the fleet was going to get left behind, all good.

As for the rest? We used to have a ton of people with ability to do almost anything (adjuncts, etc). Noticed when I was in there last night that there are literally no other officers anymore (function, not rank name). You’re the admiral, everyone else is a rank that has zero power or ability to do anything. Think that kinda says it all.

^^I actually logged in and started it, then after about 15 mins the grind monster started to attack me, unrewarding relentless grind, so i just went off and killed some Borg with a few pugs, and attacked the crystal entity, and these are still somewhat fun, weird how the main three kill the gate space missions are still the best of the bunch even after all this time, my engineer torpedo boat still racking up good dps, and i have not even tapped it out yet. lol

Going to be downloading the game within the next couple of days and wondering if any of you knew of a good new player guide to go through? I bought the game when it first came out and quickly got bored, so I'm sure coming back it's 100% different. I'd like to get up to speed and join a fleet!

I was hoping you'd have a recommendation that you had to guide new players, but a "take your pick" is both somewhat helpful and snarky. Thanks.
Nope didn't man it in a snarky way at all. I've been playing consistently since it was in closed beta back in 2009, so I've never used/needed a guide as I've played through all the changes, updates, etc.

I refined a Google search for STO tutorial videos and put that link up. With all the additions over the past year with Age of Discovery, my honest suggestion would be - pick a recently done one, as it will probably have the most recent info because yes, if you haven't played since a few months past he original launch in 2010 - yes, you won't recognize it because 95% of the original mechanics related to player skills, etc have changed since then.

Well then I apologize for my rather snippy response. I'll take a look at the videos soon. I plan to try it out for a few days and if I like it, snag that Lifetime membership thingy since it seems to be on sale right now. I always prefer putting money up front than paying for something still five years down the road.

Hey all... I’m a trifle-bit late getting into this game. I tried years ago but the Xbox version was exceptionally buggy at the time. It has gotten better and now I’m in the thick of it.

So question- years ago, there used to be TWOK monster maroon uniforms available through a special unlock, but I can’t seem to find the unlock tab that used to be in the Zen Store (used to be referred to as the C-Store). Is this still available? If so, how is it found? The menu system is quite complex and I’m probably just missing something. Any advice appreciated...
