The Steamrunner in this episode looks odd. Not sure what they used for reference, the escape pods are in the wrong places, the Bridge module is facing the wrong way, bunch of little things like that.

Like the overall shape of the ship, the silhouette is correct, there's just a bunch of odd things about it that don't match the official DS9/FC models or the Eaglemoss model.

In-universe we could chalk it up as either a different variant or Nick modified it.

I'm betting Nick modified it, the Port section of the entire hull was painted Red.
It looked like a partially converted ship that Nick didn't have time to finish before his quadrant wide announcement.

All the ships in 'his' fleet were like that.
Except for Nick's personal small ship. That was all white for some reason.

Second favorite moment, after Paywall on a bomb :D
It makes you wonder, how would the bomb makers who created the Paywall collect their latinum if the target defusing it actually did have currency to pay?

The control of the bomb would usually be in the other persons hands and they would take it back after defusing usually by disassembling the bomb.

Don't tell me they had a micro transporter ready to beam the latinum away?

Not unprecedented since the TR-116 bullet can transport bullets mid flight, so beaming away a relatively stationary chunk of latinum physical currency shouldn't be hard, but still!

You'd also need to maintain some sort of device near the bomb to receive the transporter signal and that gets messy since you have to constantly be sure to always be in range of said bomb, that gets resource intensive.

That's ALOT of effort for small chump change in latinum.

Robert Duncan McNeil did an amazing job here. He should do more voice over roles. Maybe if this directing gig doesn’t take off

It... kinda did.
_____________

Oooo-kay...

First, the elephant in the starship. Given that the crew has lost Boimler, Mariner, Freeman, and Shaxx and gotten them all back... I think Tendi will return as well. She's too important to the general chemistry of the group. And from the looks of things, she's got a plan as to how that's going to happen. ;)

I rather liked the explanation for Mariner's wild and occasionally self destructive behavior. And I'm glad they resisted the temptation to bring back Sito... I liked her, but her loss was an essential element to the original "Lower Decks".

Though I never really agreed with the mentality that Nick Lacarno was irredeemable, it was nice to get some sort of closure with the character. And his fate, dark as it was, was better than my head canon.

I think Boimler can now die a happy man, what with having been acting captain and all. Not saying I hope they kill him, mind you... he's the character who reminds me most of myself.

Nice to watch T'Lyn's quiet growth, shown both that she knew how to mediate between Rutherford and Livik, and that she opted to stay on the Cerritos. Starting to understand the true value of IDIC, maybe?

I hope Livik doesn't have any career hopes, given that his conflict with Rutherford requires eternal ensignhood. Can't say I'm happy about this... one Harry Kim was one too many.

A massive shield that can protect whole solar systems? When did this happen? And when did the Ferengi develop a Genesis device?!

Overall... it seemed like one, this one resolved a little too quickly, and two, it seemed a bit odd that Lacarno (after an impeccably crafted plot) would be laid low by misjudging Mariner the way he did.

7 out of 10 from me.

I think in the Ferengi mindset, it doesn't matter who acquires the profit, merely that said profit must be obtained somehow.

So paying the bomb means the bomb collects the latinum for itself! :D

And Locarno finally got his starburst.

I'll say it, before anyone else here does: he's going to return, and grow through awkward Human puberty like Spock did with pon farr. Because unlike Spock, he wasn't long dead when he got sent there, with no soul in his body.

I think in the Ferengi mindset, it doesn't matter who acquires the profit, merely that said profit must be obtained somehow.

Maybe they built it hoping it would blow up anyway and create a "land of milk and latinum" paradise.

I've noticed that when a lot of the live action actors voice their characters for LD a lot of them tend to over-stylize the affect. It seemed to me that's what RDM was doing. Frakes did it back in S1 too.

I had no issues recogniznig Riker in LD. Jonathan Frakes still sounds pretty much the same to me. Sure there was a bit of a difference vs TNG and movies, but nothing that would compare to RDN sounding different.
