Star Trek in the Park

I was just watching "CBS News Sunday Morning":) and they reported that a group of fans from Portland, OR who is doing "Star Trek in the Park":) a on stage production of the original series. It doesn't cost anything to attend, I just wished that Portland wasn't so far from Georgia.

I saw that, too. It doesn't look like great theater to me, but it sure does look like a wonderful community event. And the cast has sure done their homework! All concerned are to be congratulated.

I watched this on Sunday Morning as well and thought it looked pretty cool. Kinda funny they showed Trek in Portland and Shakespear in the Park in NYC. Maybe Trek will have the same status in the distant future:D

They've been doing this here for three years now. First they did "Amok Time", then they did "Mirror, Mirror", this year is "Journey to Babel", and next year will be the final season with "The Trouble With Tribbles". I've been unable to go so far, but my brother went yesterday. I'm going to try my best to make it this coming Sunday. Mayor Adams declared August 19 to be "Trek in the Park Day" in Portland.

This is something that should be 'You Tubed". Are there legal issues with this?

Good question. I did see an episode of the TV series "Portlandia" on IFC (Independent Film Channel) that had actors doing a Star Trek play in the park. It may have been this group of actors or another group of actors imitating this group of actors for legal reasons. At the time I saw this episode I thought it was joke, but now I know it was not.
