I created a research starbase with a power generation/research lab loosely based on the TMP Enterprise engine room:

Many years ago I thought about what it would take to build the refit out of LEGO scaled to the LEGO people and figured it would be about 23 feet long. If I had the time, patience and the pieces I would love to do it.

Ya' know... I saw some pics online about a year ago of somebody trying to do just that. IIRC, he had completed one deck somewhere in the secondary hull. I'd love to try that too but I'd be very happy if I could just do the TOS standing sets in minifigure scale. Maybe someday.
