Star Trek/Galaxy Quest Overlap

Were lines of dialogue in the Trek movies repeated in Galaxy Quest?

Context doesn't matter, just the actual lines. Complete sentences, or phrases will do.

Here we go. :)

I'm very surprised, actually, that Shatner's infamous "get a Life" line wasn't quoted, at all, in this movie.

The only direct "quote" I'm aware of, if you want to think of it that way, is the aft keel of the Protector has the exact same markings on it as the keel of the TOS Enterprise.

Actually, I'm not sure if they are exactly the same or just very reminiscent. I'd have to re-watch Galaxy Quest to see. There's at least a nod.

Quotes from our row at the "Galaxy Quest" sneak preview in Sydney, Australia:

[When cute baby aliens sprout gargoyle features]

"Oh, it's a marauding horde of gargoyles!" (ie. Shatner had often said he wanted such a scene for ST V.)

"You know, it would be even funnier if a giant rock monster came in about now."

[Enter giant rock monster.]

We get hysterical.

Plenty Trek connections on the GQ IMDB trivia. Best one has to be the GQ ship is shaped like a TNG comm badge

Ummm... not really. Is a person from the production cited as the source for this assertion? Cause anyone can add trivia to an IMDB page, so a lot of it is suspect.

I had something specific in mind when I started this thread. But since I was heavily medicated that day due to a badly sprained ankle, I can't for the life of me remember what I was thinking.

Sorry about that.

It's not official, but I can see the reasoning, like the Protector's wings/struts/whatever forming an oval and the fuselage (if you can call it that) creating an arrow-like tip. Whatever the designer's reasons are for adding in those shapes are conscious choices, I just wonder about the inspiration of those choices. How often do we see wings that curve back like that on a starship design? Curving up and down, yes, but heading to the back and almost coming around to meet each other again is fairly unique. But we also don't see the Starfleet arrow and oval design often elsewhere outside of Trek, either.

But given the often-stated intentions of the folks behind the movie for homage, I wouldn't put such a reference beyond them, either.
