Star Trek Fleet Captains

Hello!

Have any of you played Fleet Captains? (For those who haven't heard of it, it's a strategic game played with cards and ship models, not a video game.)

I have it and have played it five times now, three as the Feds and twice as Klingons, both against the same other player. In every game the Federation won, and it's usually not close.

Five games played is hardly a basis for judgement, I'm not about to house rule stuff, but it does seem as there may be a trend towards the Federation being much easier to meet the victory conditions.

It's a brilliant game in most every respect, and an expansion to include Romulans is due out in October 2012, but it's starting to feel a little unbalanced.

Have any of you played this? If so, have you noticed this as unbalanced? Any ideas on strategies for using Klingons and actually winning?

If it's from WizKids, you have my attention. Thanks for starting the discussion. Although I don't have the game now, it sounds like something I'll purchase later.

It is indeed form WizKids. I have it and their Star Trek: Expeditions game which is also cool but in a different way. I have yet to get any of their HeroClix starships yet, but I mean to.

I do highly recommend Fleet Captains, I was just hoping someone else had played it to ...

Albertese, I haven't played Fleet Captains yet, but it's on my list of games to get. I've read a lot of good reviews about the game play, but have also heard stories of poorly made components, such as flimsy cards and broken ships (not cool for a $70+ game). Did you encounter any issues with the production quality?
