Star Trek: First Frontier on Kickstarter

Interesting. That looks like the guy at the turbolift doors, and the haser rifle. So if he's April, who's that in the Command seat in the first picture?

Using models is idiotic for one reason, budget. Most people have no idea what it takes to shoot a model effectively for film. It is a huge under taking. Yeah, sounds cute. But it is like a director wanting to shoot on film these days. Extravagant indulgence.
Hi Alec, still under construction, but it seems to be coming along nicely :nyah:

Well, that saucer top is an... interesting set of choices.

OMG I disagree entirely on your preference for Brian Gross's take on Kirk as opposed to Vic's. Brian is a wimp version of Kirk. I don't have anything against Brian. I just think he plays him too laid back. I thought he was out acted in Mind Sifter by Brandon Stacy.
Um, you're replying to the sock-puppet of someone (Alec Peters) who was banned three different times long ago.

Credit where it's due to Kenny Smith and company. I honestly did not think he had it in him. Looking forward to the finished product.

The above quote, as we now know is from none other than Alec Peters himself, using one of his many burner handles, RedOmega.

It's all the more ironic and completely highlights his inherent hypocrisy and general stupidity that after making such comments, he felt no compunction about having his photo taken recently with the finished model he was so vehemently critical of in that post:

Will you STOP scaring me like that!
Worse than Freddy, wish someone would banish that face from the net.

But hey:

"Alec might have gotten away with it too; if it weren't for you meddling kids!"

[Disclaimer: "Scooby-Doo" © Hanna-Barbera Productions - above line used without permission, but hey, I think it falls under 'parody' in this instance... ;)]

I'd never heard of this. It certainly looks interesting. I guess as something that was well into production pre-guidelines everyone involved is hoping it's exempt?

The ultimate cut off point, I'm reckoning, is the debut of DSC. If they can get their film out before then, or maybe before year's end, the studio will be more willing to look the other way.

Then again, given who this particular production is affiliated with, maybe not so much...

The guy behind this film put up all the money himself, so for his sake I really hope fan film can still go forward. However as they have not long finished the shooting miniature I am guessing they still have a lot of post production to get through.

I do not believe that First Frontier has any affiliation with Alec Peters. The model was on display in the same venue that Axanar was using for their panel, that is all. Many others would have used the same room for different panel's and the model would have been on display for them also.

How long until we hear about a notice from CBS gently reminding them their poster needs to conform to the guidelines?
