This show is so bad its disgraceful. It bores me to tears. I can't even watch anymore. I lasted about 4 minutes today. Its a bunch of incoherent stupidity with no plot line, no intensity, no story, dull and uninteresting with uninteresting and blah actors. This show is a truly epic fail.

Eh, I disagree, but thanks for your opinion.

And I'm most interested in seeing Discovery explore other universes besides the Mirror one.
I hope they do so in the future.

Explain why this thread which is stating my opinion is an epic fail. Also please explain why this show is good in your opinion. Because you are easily entertained and have low standards? And that makes this trash watchable and entertaining?

Such a discussion does not start with good faith.

So...

There's having an opinion, and then there's only watching four minutes.

At least someone like Doomcock can claim to have watched it to have some semblance of an opinion.

Ive watched several episodes tho not just this one.

Today was the straw that broke the camels back.

This show is really really bad.

What the hell have they done with the appearance of the Klingons?

Pike is good

Lorca was good

Special effects are good

burnham is the most annoying and cringeworthy character in tv history

Pretty much everything else is a steaming puddle of sewage

Im not trying to be rude to anyone

Just stating how I honestly feel

I thought thats what this forum is for?

I dont understand why anyone would take this personally

You literally just told someone they "are easily entertained and have low standards." Kind of personal, no?

If you don't like it and can explain what you don't like, I'm sure you'd get engagement. But saying it's really really bad or "sewage" gives us absolutely nothing at all to response to. All anyone can say is, "No, it's not." Surely you'd like more of a response? It also kind of sounds like you're telling us that your perception is fundamentally true, which leaves no room for disagreement.

When you post something like:

Also please explain why this show is good in your opinion. Because you are easily entertained and have low standards?

...it sounds kind of rude. Like it or dislike it, don't accuse others of having "low standards" just because they share a different opinion from yours.

Leuitenant Stammets and the spore drive lol

what is this nonsense

hundreds of years in the future we never have this but somehow magically this puny little ship from 500 years ago has technology that would brutalize the Borg

Every single character on Star Trek the Next Generation was fun to watch, interesting, engaging and just an overall pleasure.

None of these people are. NONE OF THEM. Except Pike.

Star Trek has taken a massive nosedive. Instead of getting better its gotten far worse.

The characters and plots are just beyond atrocious. Its so bad its honestly scary.

That ship was called Voyager. Voyager beat the Borg again and again.
I would pay top dollar to see Burnham decapitated with a batleth
How rude.

Perhaps save the pain and not watch? Rather than lecture us on how bad Star Trek is now?:shrug::shrug:

I think it's pretty well acted, directed, produced, and generally entertaining, though not without its flaws. I was not enthralled with the Klingon war, but I did come to grow on the characters, particularly Stammets and Tilly. So far the second season has been a major upgrade due to the change in a more adventurous tone, abandoning the undercurrent of a devastating war, and having Pike bring back some needed joviality and optimism that makes it more fun to watch.
