IIRC the Orions in the first season weren't even that. They were just humans with no makeup on, and they made their skin tones green in postproduction.

They pulled a 180 and did full silicone "masks" similar to the Klingons this season.

At least they're not remotely as ugly.

Well, pretty stupid episode (nothing new here, just like every other episode of the third season so far). Imagine, what if Shakespeare was some angry millennial, this is it. But, you see, there are two kinds of stupid: boring stupid and funny stupid. The Terran Empire is always fun.

10/10 easily.

Goofy Trek can be the most fun Trek. This episode - even with all its flaws - didn't take itself too seriously and that's something DSC needs to do more of.

I mean, there are a lot of arguments around prosthetics and not impacting actors ability or the use of Klingon language. But, I see no reason for them to be aesthetically pleasing to us if the goal is making them alien then it shouldn't automatically be attractive to the audience.

I've played a lot of Fallout and there is nothing that looks like that in there. It's all way uglier than these Klingons.

Anyone noticed that Carl looks like a twentieth-century detective (e.g. Hercule Poirot, Jules Maigret, Joseph Rouletabille...)?

He needs to have more brass to be a detective.

I had fun with the earlier seasons. I think each one has gotten better by themselves and because we now know the characters a bit more.

I’ve heard this from a few people. I’m enjoying it much less! I guess it just goes to show how subjective this stuff is.

You're not kidding. The odd episode like the Mudd one and "New Earth" aside the first two years just don't match up to this season.

Honestly, I enjoyed Season 1 and 2 but Season 3 has given me new appreciation for the prior two. There is such interesting character and thematic development that I find it more enriched upon rewatching, especially with Burnham, Georgiou and the Mirror Universe.
