Really liked it, a 7+ from me. Beginning a bit pandering and I’m totally not sold on tilly as temporary first officer, but the way the show the current Vulcan situation is quite logical and Gabriel as a Qowat Milat works for me, especially if she’s been on Vulcan for several years, something that’s not really clear.

I like a lot the president, who managed to appear sympathetic but fully Vulcan, a feat that has been hard to accomplish in the history of Star Trek, I also like that the Vulcan judge, contrarily to expectations, is the main opposition while his more emotional colleagues are willing to cooperate, but I’m not sure why he is...Perhaps he knows something we don’t?

The relationship with Book is working better than I thought and I wonder if he’ll leave on his own, remaining long distance, or what will happen.

All in all, a clever plot and quite obviously the writers forecasted correctly about what we would be talking about, nice!

And well, no crying! A lot of whispering, though...

Halfway through it now so not reading everything. But that’s the actress who played the hydra woman in season 5 of SHIELD isn’t it?

Actually, I am glad that Tilly got the job because I predicted it last week. It's always nice to be vindicated.:rommie:

So, respectfully (genuinely not trying to be a dink, just curious)...you don’t like the Berman era and you clearly don’t like the Kurtzman stuff....are you actually a Star Trek fan?

Because that’s like 80% of the entire franchise.

I am a 37 year Star Trek fan. I like TOS, two movies, the first 5 or so seasons of TNG, and Lower Decks. I dig some of what Discovery does as light weekly entertainment. I think it’s the best Star Trek since Roddenberry died. But I’m not a big fan of it. That’s how someone can knock out most of Kurtzman and Berman and still be a Star Trek fan. Thanks for your concern.

Not the president lady, which was the only person who mattered in the end.
Not the only one but in a republic, the president is always the person that matters the most (unless it's a parody of a republic like we've seen of late and the president is just the puppet of private interests).

Or in many republics like Ireland where the president is symbolic and parliament majority rules

SPOCK: My father was also a Commander of a Bird of Prey in the Romulan Star Empire. Most illogical. And yet they were one and the same man. There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in any Burnham philosophy. Maybe there is more than one of everything. And we will wait for those stories to be told. I have lived long and prospered. And will again, perhaps? One day.
