I wonder if any species among the Discovery crew have gone extinct in the past 900 years?

"Welcome to the future!" F--- yeah!!! Personal transporters! Magic chopsticks! Kindness! YEAH!

Can't wait for the crew to catch up. But I am happy to watch it happen!

Agreed. And I don't like the whole character of Reno at all. She and Mirror Georgiou are just jerks for the sake of being jerks. I don't know why they just couldn't have kept Prime Georgiou alive honestly.
Because Earth is not the home where billions of saints dwell

I liked the episode a lot, really well written.

Interesting that Burnham has been here a year, and her hairstyle has become a normal 21st century hairstyle. I'm curious what she's done in that time. The whole thing with the parasitic ice was cool, and the villain was really engaging. Then the standoff with Georgiu. Well done.
Black woman have use that hairstyle for millenia, it was not invented from 2001
6.

Felt like a mix of last week’s episode and “Marauders” from Enterprise.

So Burnham has a ship powerful enough to pull Discovery off the surface of a planet?
I would expect a 31st century hoverbike to able to pull Discovery off the planet, so if Burnham is using Book's ship it should be more powerful and stronger than a Starfleet ship 900 years old

That's because he's Irish. We built America, remember? I've not watched Lower Decks, but I've been a Niner for as long as there have been Niners, and I love me some Miles "Bollocks" O'Brien.
I guess the unpaid labour that was there before you might disagree

I’m thinking more of difference of size and the fact that Book’s ship is running on shards of dilithium.

or a shuttle...I mean, for once we would have all agreed it was the right time to use a discovery shuttle!

(Which, by the way, has its own communications systems...)
I'm thinking that the shuttlebay may be just a tad buried under the surface that the ship CRASHED into and therefore not accessible to launch from.
Also, the shuttlecraft may be kinda-sorta piled up on top of each other in the bay from the crash itself.

As far as a shuttle having communication equipment, I'd have to surmise that it may not be powerful enough to get through the very strange atmospheric conditions that are also apparently holding the planet together.
(it's probably a stretch, but seems plausible to me)

It's not "Sticky"?
This is something that's migrating from forum to forum. We started in PIC, went to LD, now we're in DSC. Presumably after this we'll go to GTD. So it's more of a floating thing than a sticky thing.

I mean, I guess I could ask if something could be stickied related to Zoom but the way it seems to go, the Zoom Sessions seem to be moving with whatever the show is.

wasn't the shuttlebay basically in the air at the angle the ship crashed?

Fair enough.

Yeah.
