Cutting and pasting the stuff relevant to this new season....

And those are our starters.

I give my detailed reviews for the first season earlier in the thread but only quick-takes on the second season, due to lack of time. But it's all fresh in my mind now and right in time.

Apparently the actor who plays Burnham Sr. posted on her Instagram something about Star Trek but quickly deleted it.

Wait, is RAMA = Larry N?
Unfortunately no, I'm not the great and powerful Larry Nemecek.

"Such Sweet Sorrow" kicked ass and took names. Part I is the emotional core of the season. If anyone has to ask why, they wouldn't understand. And Part II is something that sends the season out with a bang. Literally. I feel like I could play this on the 4th of July. Some great fireworks. Just got finished re-watching it right now.

Usually, episodes drop seven minutes passed 2:00 (I began to pick up on this after a while), so it's 11:47pm Eastern as I type this... which means 2 hours and 20 minutes to go!

Theories about Season 3? I've got some here in this thread of mine, the rewatch leading up to Season 3.

Yup, whereas Season 1 built up progressively and finished with a mediocre episode, season 2 really nailed the ending.

Interesting. Never really noticed when exactly they posted. We shall see if I doze off with the iPad tonight then

Lots of early reaction on Twitter, looks like a hit.

Here's just one: Larry Nemecek

Kids, my 2019 human-nature prediction was right on track: #StarTrekDiscovery
S3 finally looks really comfortable in its own skin, everyone shines and gets a moment (or more)... the ST Universe is *used*... and StarTrek/Starfleet shines throughout.

Where should I be looking for more?

Is there a connection between the Gorn destroying 2 Lj of subspace and most dilithium going boom...?
Quantum slipstream drive seems to be standard now
That Starfleet guy has the worst desk job ever XD

The shaky fight scenes are just annoying to me, but I really like that Book is an animal conservationist! And that entire last part with the lonely guy finding hope and finally raising the flag was very emotional and saved the whole episode for me. More such scenes, more animal rescue, and less stupid action, please :D

Here's something interesting from the season preview:

Is that a Hiawatha type in a flashback showing "the burn"?
