Star Trek Defiant - DS9 Sequel Series

Considering that the original plan was for Sisko to be in Lily’s place, its safe to say he would have opposed Picard’s plan. There's history between Picard and Sisko, and it would be a huge oversight to not callback to that if Sisko was in the film.

And even if both Sisko and Lily are in the film, then they both oppose Picard’s plan. Which would just highlight Picard going off the deep end even more, with calls for a more sane approach coming from someone from the mid-21st century and one of Picard's peers from the 24th century.

And even with O'Brien, he could have been in the place of Daniels (the Ent-E guy, not the dude from ENT) for the film.

O'Brien I can see, though I would have been disappointed if he didn't say something about Picard becoming a whackadoo.

Sisko though. I think Sisko would have resolved the problem Q-style. And I might have been cheering for him to do so.

That’s what I said. It was a disappointing return to Deep Space Nine. As with most of LDS, the story was pretty silly, Kira and Quark sounded 20 years older than they should have been, Quark was acting like idiot season 1 Quark, and none of the other actors returned or were given any indication as to what happened to them after DS9 ended. For someone who was a huge DS9 fan, it was quite a letdown.

At least we learned about what happened with Grand Nagus Rom and Leeta, in a completely different episode of a different season.
It was. And the tension of the episode was Quark and a scheme. It landed poorly.

If Lily is present while Sisko is resolving the problem Q-style, she’d be questioning how evolved the 24th century really is.

And I will say it again. If Aron Eisenberg isn’t going to voice Nog, what’s the point?

They could take archival audio from his appearances on DS9 and use for a Nog cameo – that’s what they did with Spock, Scotty, and Odo in PRO – but I don’t think fans would want that.

It does suck that he wouldn't be able to do the voice but it would be chance to see the character again and sort of see the payoff to his character arc of wanting to join Starfleet. Because it's a cartoon it would be better than recasting in non-cartoon show.

Animated series recast all the time.

I mean Star Wars Clone Wars doesn't have any of the movie actors except Anthony Daniels and Ahmed Best.
And James Earl Jones.

But, Ewan, Hayden and Natalie all got recast. And, in my opinion, Aron's passing should not mean Nog's death, especially in animated form.
