Just a reminder that before we saw the green wraparound in STC, Phase II, or even Starship Exeter, we saw the James Cawley-made green wraparound in the Star Trek Enterprise episode "In a Mirror, Darkly" on Scott Bakula. That's the first appearance since TOS.

This must be one of those things that happened in the black hole that was 1991-2013.

Anybody else mention DS9's "Trials and Tribble-ations"? I seem to recall various frames with the green wraparound, that included DS9 cast members and can't be found anywhere in TOS.

I think they've made it clear from their interviews that they won't be doing any more direct sequels..

The problem with depending on Kickstarter and crowdfunding, as well as having a necessary operating budget that is relatively ample, is that they have to juggle between what they might want to do, as well as with what their fanbase wants.

From reading some of the many STC Facebook posts, a LOT of people want to see Klingon episodes, or sequels, or returning characters a lot more than they want to see entirely NEW characters and situations (Actually I sometimes slap my forehead while reading some of these as many can be totally ridiculous).

What does this mean? well I think we can surely expect what we have had from STC already, one episode with a returning character or a direct sequel, and one episode that dares to venture into less safe territory (Lolani in this case).

And many here are talking about the return of the green wraparound tunic, but I personally am pining for a scene with one of the characters in their dress uniforms...

You know, that's a good point. It seems they should have been wearing dress uniforms for the dinner with Zaminhon, if they followed the same protocol they did with Khan.

"Lolani" gave us another Orion female, but not a previous established Orion female. And how could they, really? Vina was in truth disfigured (if still alive) and wasn't actually an Orion female and Marta was dead. STC could do another Klingon or Romulan story without ressurrecting previously known Klingon or Romulan characters. Starship Exeter did Tholians without ressurrecting Loskene.

Roddenberry, Fontana and Justman were not keen on revisiting previously established characters, particularly villians, because they felt it beggared belief that in traveling the vastness of the galaxy it was highly unlikely the Enterprise crew would run into the same people again. Harry Mudd was the one time exception (two times if you include TAS) and that beggared credibility. You can get away with it once, but repeating it becomes a weak crutch.

If STC sticks to their general intent then revisiting ideas has to be done creatively. They got away with it with Apollo because they used Michael Forest's actual age as a important story element. They got away with it with the Mirror Universe because it was something of a thought exercise with no impact whatsoever on the Prime Universe.

We've done both a Spock dress uniform and a Kirk dress uniform for "Kitumba:"

We even got the white dress uniform weapons belts for our security guards (and a bosun's whistle)--as in "The Savage Curtain."

Fortunately, "Kitumba" was released in 2013--by which time Star Trek had escaped from its nonexistent era and began to exist once again.

STC has just announced that Episode 4 will premiere at Phoenix Comicon.

Again? That's where Pilgrim premiered. The Phoenix Comicon is also at the end of May, that's a long wait. Wish they were able to spread it around a bit. Maybe they can get San Diego for Episode 5?

I know! I am considering upping my 75 dollar donation. I'll wait until the end if it is necessary though. Which is, of course, why there is always a last day surge. Procrastinators like me...

At this point I think any extra episodes seems unlikely, sadly. I am surprised at the lack of promotion for this kickstarter.

Let's not forget that Ep. 4 is already paid for from the last Kickstarter which was to pay for three episodes (#2, 3 and 4). So we've got Eps. 4-6 to look forward to that will be paid for. Afterward they could try another drive for additional episodes.

If STC keeps delivering the standard of episodes they have been so far then they shouldn't have any problem getting continued support from the fanbase that wants to see them continue and succeed.

Lieutenant Areel Shaw is purporting to be wearing a dress uniform. Longer cut, glossy fabric like the other dress uniforms, gold piping on the collar, funny diagonal cut on her uniform unlike most other women's uniforms.

Actually, Bill Theiss didn't start the diagonal seams on the women's uniforms until the third season when they switched from velour and got new uniform patterns for all the women. (A few guest star women got the swirl patterns in the second season velour when uniforms had to be custom made for them, but regular cast women continued to use their old standard non-swirl style.) In the first and second seasons, there were two seams on the women's uniforms: one going up over each breast. The exception was Nurse Chapel: her fabric was glossy with a non-black collar and that funny diagonal cut. Areel Shaw's uniform has seams like Chapel's--but not like other women's uniforms.
