The dialogue seems a bit worrying. I know its just five pages of a comic but it is also written by the guys that wrote the movie. I am also getting the feeling Nero is not a villain throughout and out like Khan was but rather gets evil later on. I also want that cleavagey chick in the movie, she looks hot in art form! :p

So it seems Nero's ship looks the way it does because it's a ....Edit: Why don't the spoiler tags work? Well it's a (blank)

Which is pretty cool. But why build them so big.

Nero seems a decent guy from what little we see here. I wonder what "breaks" him.

Meh...the artwork looks decent and I agree that the dialog seems off. I will wait until April when this comes out in TPB format.

Thats assuming its the same ship he has in the movie.

I find it interesting that people are somewhat ignoring this tie-in comic when it's explicitly setting up the movie. I guess some folks see "comic" and don't bother.

"No time to explain big boy, just get your ass up here!" I didn't realise Romulans spoke quite like that :vulcan:

There's another thread about this.

The reader "hears" this through a Universal Translator. Currently it must be set to colloquial English. You'd prefer Romulan script in the speech balloons and no subtitles? ;)

It's not even on sale yet? How are they ignoring it?

In any case, Paramount knows that only about 1% of cinema audiences ever buy a novelization. I wouldn't expect every ST fan here to be clamouring to see five pages of issue #1 of a prequel comic.

The bridge is the same from what we've seen along with the drilling rig. It's possible they built the "space octopus" around the original ship.

RE: Dialogue

I believe this is the first time we've seen "Working Class" Romulans, so the dialogue would likely bee more relaxed, perhaps with far less discipline than Military/Political Romulans, or Remans.

That's more 'naturalistic' dialogue then we usually get out of Trek. I'll save my Queen's English rant for later...

Really Romulans have a proper way of talking? Its not Shakespeare enough for you all?(if anythings dragged Trek down the constant need to be presented like Shakespeare in space did... at least it was kinda tongue and cheek in Trek VI)

It would be interesting to see characters in "Star Trek" talk like people now and again, wouldn't it?

Certainly would be a novelty.

Marina Sirtis once remarked that on Trek "We don't converse. We hit our marks and declaim."

Do we know if the TPB will be available in regular bookstores?

I would assume so. Chances are that the studio will want all the tie-in material they have to be in stores that the general customer goes to regularly in order to increase their take in merchandising.

Thanks, I was hoping that would be the case. I think I'm just going to wait until I can read the whole story at one time.
