Star Trek comics on DVD

Holy crap! That is so cool, now I have another reason to be excited for these comics.

"Mirror, Mirror" comic

I also read the "Mirror, Mirror" special Tom DeFalco wrote for the Marvel/Paramount Comics run. It's a very different take from Dave Mack's followup to "Mirror, Mirror," or Mike Barr's from the DC comics, but it's a pretty interesting alternate interpretation. The way Spock resolves the threat to the Halkans is actually quite clever.

People have discussed the outcome of a confrontation between Kirk and Spock in "Fragile Glass" which you can get to by going here, and I was wondering what becomes of the other characters in that story. Please PM me or place in spoiler format if you don't want to give away the ending to others.

QI'yah! :klingon:

The Klingon version of Marvel's Starfleet Academy #18 appears to be missing. How could they miss that????

(BTW: Would anyone be interested in screenshots?)

OK, I just skimmed this thread, so forgive me if this has been asked:

1) Does this include both the Marvel series from the late70s set after the first fim AND the latter Starfleet Academy/DS9/Early Voyages material?

2) Does this include special issue graphic novels like Debt of Honor?

With the exception of a few random bits here and there this includes ALL the comics from every company up to 2002. The only runs missing are the recent series from IDW. It even includes new covers for reprints and forwards for trade paperback collections.

Dang! Wish I could afford it... :(

It also doesn't include the Tokyopop Trek mangas. Otherwise, the only omissions are Marvel's two Trek/X-Men crossovers, the Klingon-language alternate edition of Starfleet Academy #18, and the trade-paperback collection (with new foreword) of The Modala Imperative (though the original issues are included individually).

Ok, I'm really annoyed with myself. I had the DVD in the drive in my computer and just stuck the case in my computer bag. Somewhere along the way the case slipped out of my bag and I can't find out. I've got a ton of media and I've never lost a case like that before. Guess I'm reduced to xeroxing the box and sticking that in an empty case so I have something to put my disk in...

Are issues collected in trades generally on the disc twice, then?

No. When you click on a trade collection you get whatever's new. Usually the cover and maybe a forward or afterword. If you want to read the actual issue you have to find their individual listings.

Actually, in the case of the DC and Wildstorm trade-paperback collections, the entire TPB is included as well as the original issues. So you do get the content twice in those cases.

In the case of the Gold Key collections, you get the covers plus the extra material that was created for three of them. In the case of Marvel's TMP adaptation, you get both the original single-volume version plus the three regular-series issues it was split into (including new opening splash pages for issues 2 & 3), all in their entirety, but only the cover for a third edition whose contents were the same as the original.

Wish I could find it in a brick-and-mortar store.

Bookstores take special orders. Go to your brick-and-mortar bookstore of choice, tell them you want to special-order the Star Trek: The Complete Collection DVD from GITCorp (ISBN 976-1-934377-19-2), and they'll order it for you and notify you when it arrives.

Thanks, Christopher. I'll do that. I wasn't even sure what kind of store to look in. I've been combing big boxes, book stores, software stores... I hadn't yet made it to a comic book store, but that was my next try.

I got my box a few days ago. A friend in the USA was so kind to send me one.

My husband has just showed me what to do and when you know how, it is really easy to use. When I have more time I will sit down longer with it and read more but I can already see, it is a fascinating collection. I am so glad to have it!
