Star Trek characters in dreams

LMFAOschwarz

Fleet Captain
I thought this might be interesting for a thread, as last night I had a dream in which I was in some mall, and an old friend from high school was there (one whom I hadn't even thought about for 30 years, gotta wonder how people like that show up in our minds!). Anyhow to make a long story short, in the dream a friend's ex-girlfriend had set me up with Diana Muldaur! Oddly, I specifically remember wanting to ask her what it was like working with Jack Lord!

I remember years ago, I dreamed I was driving through town and stopping at a particular intersection. It was dark and snowing, and from behind the car Kirk and Spock walked up to the car, dressed in normal winter-type clothing. I was writing something down in a notebook, and Spock reached in the car and took the notebook and said, "That will be quite enough."

Who the hell knows what stuff like that is about, but surely others here have similar experiences. I'd love to hear about them! :)

I once had a dream about being on the Enterprise during a battle. I was with Spock and he had me get into some type of escape pod. While I was in there it got sent into outer space and I realized I was "lost in space" and I woke up in a huge panic!!!

I've never had a dream like that. I have had many dreams where I see a previously-unseen TOS episode come on TV. The dream episodes are sometimes quite detailed but usually a little bizarre. It goes back to the feeling I had when I was younger and didn't know anything about seasons or episode lists and would come across a new -- to me -- episode on the local reruns.

I dreamt once that I was in the transporter room, and reached over and flipped the comm panel button.

I've been re-watching TOS recently. I've also watched too many of those shows like "monsters inside me" that deal with parasites and insects and things. These things inspired the following kind of nightmare:

A few weeks ago, I had a dream I was back in college. James T Kirk was my professor, but he was out of the room. A really annoying guy was sitting across a table from me, and he had a bad infestation of bot fly larvae. (Don't google them unless you have a strong stomach; basically maggots that burrow into the flesh and live there a while). These were mostly in his arm. There was a gaping hole in his forearm, and if he pressed on it, he could shoot a larva out of the hole at people. He was really terrorizing the rest of the class. I kind of hated to be a snitch, but eventually I ran out of the room looking for Kirk to tell the guy to stop it. I found him at the end of the hall. That's all I remember. ^_^

Hmm, maybe I was better off not asking!

Really, why does this stuff float about our subconscious??!

. . .Spock reached in the car and took the notebook and said, "That will be quite enough."

Spock says that in "A Private Little War", when M'Benga is trying to slap him into consciousness. There might be other occasions.

I'd never had a Trek dream until earlier this year, a few months after joining the board. Don't remember who was in it or what it was about though. I figured all the discussion here brought it on, despite trying to have a Trek dream for over 40 years.

Haha! Well, I'm sure mine is just a way of my brain dealing with watching Star Trek all the time, and watching stuff about insects. I tend to dream about whatever I'm watching or reading about that day, or at least I can see some influence on my dreams. Like sometimes I have video game dreams, too.

I also frequently have dreams about being back in college, and also about the horrible convenience store job I had in my early 20s.

So often it seems that some passing little event during the day can manifest itself in a dream later. As a result, you can end up with Ambassador Petri cleaning your wood stove or something!

I did have a dream once regarding Trek. It was shortly after De Kelley had passed. I dreamt they had discovered a previously unreleased TOS movie between TUC and GEN. At first I was watching it in a theater. Next thing I know, I'm a spectator in the movie talking with Kirk and McCoy.

I vaguely remember it involved being in San Francisco at Starfleet Command and trying to commandeer a new ship for Kirk and crew to do... something. Spock was in the Ambassador Corps. requesting Kirk's help for some matter. They were wearing their red uniforms from TWOK - TUC, and the production values looked dated from the late 70's, like Buck Rogers and some drawings they did for ST Phase 2.

I had a dream that Captain Kirk was giving me a tour of the Enterprise while it was on Earth for maintenance, and Khan showed up and kidnapped us both. The rest is a little fuzzy, but I clearly remember getting into a bar fight with Khan on another planet and saving Kirk.... absolutely none of which made sense.

But a girl can dream, can't she? :P

I had a dream a very long time ago about Star Trek. I started writing it down and it morphed into its own story. It takes place in the TNG time period and has to do with other "supermen" from the Eugenics Wars that fought against Khan.

I posted it on a fanfiction site, but I have not touched it in years and I always want to go back to it, but I've been so busy with work and life that I never get to it. I also wrote some other stories that are on that site since then (not ST stories) and I would love to actually finish it one day.

I had quiet ridiculous dream once.
I was in command of the Enterprise D, while Picard was not on board, and some bad guys appeared in orbit. But when I said to go to warp speed, the engines wend down for no reason. I remember some 'shots' of being in engineering.
Assuming that eventually, we dealed with bad guys, Picard was angry when he came back to the ship. I tried to excuse myself, saying that the engines are malfunctioning, but he just gave the order to set the Warp 6, and the ship responded just perfectly.
There isn't much logic and sense in this, but that's what dreams usually are.

I also remembered this dream recently, when started playing Bridge Commander :D

I've had several Trek dreams. I was never in them as much as I was observing Data and a strange 3D effect of starfields and Cardassian ships. Some TOS dreams.

The ones I enjoyed the most were Bookstore and toy store dreams, with all kinds of unreal products. I would flip through blueprint books--and then wake up and all the swag disappears.

If only my dreams had been recorded...

I had a dream a few weeks ago where I was in "the Cage." But it wasn't "in universe", it was on the sound stage and I kept flubbing my line.

No idea what that meant

As long as the line wasn't "Well, I have to wear something... don't I?", you're probably all right.
