Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

Anyone else noticed the increased number of windows in the saucer rim?

Hmm, bummer. :(

Looking closer, I agree the person on the far right of THIS image isn't 0718 but neither does he look like the alien in your above posted image. The former has a pink face, the latter a face whitened with makeup. The only similarity I see is the red uniform and bald heads.

Either way 0718 isn't in the film at all, he was cut during rewrites.

the one person who i really want to know the location of is Carol Marcus. I'm hoping she was just on leave or something and She and Kirk haven't had a falling out.

6.30 pm Thursday 7 July, at the Hoyts Entertainment Quarter in Sydney -- Not to be confused with the Hoyts cinema on George St, the "Entertainment Quarter" is a less than central location. Even looking at a map I'm not sure how I'd get there. :(

Pine talks Orci's Trek3 and the 2 Kirks meeting (sounds abit Generationsy) http://www.gamesradar.com/this-is-w...and-chris-pine-in-a-star-trek-movie-together/
If that draft had made it to production, Pine believes having two Kirks onscreen would override discussion about the actual movie itself. "It would just become about that," he adds. "The movie can’t become about that. The movie has to be about whatever story we’re trying to tell. It’d be fun, it’d be kitschy, it’d be a great piece for you guys to talk about, and for late-night TV, but above and beyond that I don’t know what it serves for our storytelling purposes, you know?"

Well said. I have no objection to Shatner, but it would have just been a gimmick for its own sake rather than any kind of substantive story development.

I think it's just the bright lighting on the bridge making his face look lighter than in the close-up shot. But, I could be wrong.

If the rumors were true for Orchis script of Kirk n crew, vulcsns, & 3rd alien race all racing to obtain a time travel device so vulcans could stop the destruction of their planet by Nero that script sounded very poor even worse than STID.......

A gimmick w Nimoy n Shatner meeting their counter parts couldn't save that

Was very happy to hear studio thought same n changed

Looked at the photos. I can't figure out how to fire the thing!
The original idea was it was supposed to be a thumb trigger (the gold buttons on the updated design), but the placement doesn't seem particularly ergonomic - and it looks like in practice the actors just mime that it has a standard "button on the front" trigger.

I think the ambidextrous gold thumb buttons on the sides are the toggles for switching the rotating barrel from stun to kill. I think the trigger is still supposed to be where you'd normally expect it, it's just not actually there, because they'd just mime it as you said.
