Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

My opinion on the (presumed) redesign :barf: They made it worse.
Here's a very quick comparison. Looks like the nacelles have been shrunk down as well.

It's cold in space, shrinkage is to be expected.

Another angle

But that actually is a cool angle for it.

I'm down with anything which will be something new and fresh to Star Trek; boldly going should always be the mission statement.

Are we sure these are clips / ships from STB? The commercial is full of shots from ST09 and STiD as well, and other stuff. I note there's what appears to be an Enterprise-D to the left of the "thin nacelle" Enterprise graphic.

My HOPE is - it looks closer to prime E
Smaller nacelles swept back w red buzzard collectors but updated

The tv spot version could be like the Franklin concept art vs. Franklin look in 2nd trailer

It is amazing how much the sweeping pylons improve that design from that angle. In comparison like that, it really emphasizes the problems the original nuEnterprise had. The original is disproportionately fat and twisted while the new looks sleek and straight.

I wonder if the movie will address the changes or gloss over them? The neck also looks more TOS like and doesn't flow into the hull. Shrunken nacelles, and swept back pylons. I don't mind the new look, but seems very odd to make all these changes and then destroy the ship. It's only a display graphic so the end result may differ though.

I think we're supposed to pretend it looked like that from the refit/rebuild at the end of Into Darkness.

It's been two and a half years, they likely made the Vengeance style drive her standard one with yet another refit. Starfleet is more interested in pushing technology in this universe instead of the rehashing and stagnating in the old one.

Do you see anything familiar in my previous post? I'll make this easy for you: It was an exercise in humorous self-aware irony (or perhaps self-parody) from my post about wasting heartbeats on rewatching Star Trek movies, yet making a revealing reference to a Star Trek movie I've rewatched many times - made obvious by making the reference any Trekkie knows.
Since apparently you're going to continue to belabor this tangent by talking down to him for daring to not find your obvious hilariousness as amusing as you so clearly do, I'll point out that anyone who requires a disclaimer in their sig instructing people on how to react to your brand of "humor" because they've frequently run into this same problem might be doing it wrong, and perhaps you should take greater care to make sure what you consider to be jokes don't just come across as condescending insults to others.

Can you drop it now?

I've been thinking about this a lot today... what if nothing we've seen in the trailers is even real?

What I'm getting at, is what if it's all a simulation, or mind control? Kind of like "Future Imperfect", "Ship in a Bottle", or even the SG-1 episode "Gatekeeper".

Anyone else getting that kind of vibe? Maybe it's just me. :)

Paramount’s team has a record of everyone who received a ticket but didn’t get in, as well as some additional details collected that Friday night from those who were waiting in line outside the studio lot.

Starting at the end of this week, they will be sending out swag bags containing all the goodies that fans who made it through the doors took home – including tickets to the July 20 world-premiere screening and that special Motion Picture-inspired STAR TREK BEYOND poster – to those who weren’t able to get in the May 20 event.

Does whoever made this graphic not realize that the neck is in front of the engine pylons?

I'm also thinking that...

...the HP graphics could be depicting the Enterprise "A" the crew likely gets at the end. As is the Enterprise we see in the trailer only appears to have minor differences from it's look at the end of ID
