Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

I think it's a fairly safe assumption that they will get a new Enterprise by the end of the film.
I don't doubt that at all, I'm just flabbergasted that some people took the writing term "deconstruction" to be an actual commentary on construction of the Enterprise.

Looks like Paramount was saving the 2nd trailer for a fan event in May.
What is this "fan event"? Is it just the screening, or is this associated with a con? The story doesn't say.

Oh sure, and rob the art department a chance to make a blinky failing shield graphic.
But I am looking forward to the lights going red to indicate a "red alert"!

He could have owned more than one.
The bike in the trailer seems older than the one in ST09, so possibly he bought a junker to fix up.

What we need is a sandworm to jump out the ground and swallow the Enterprise....... 10 minutes of fun ensues

Especially, considering my Avatar, I like!

...but maybe it just swallows the shuttle - The Herbert (NCC-1701-10) of course - because it would have to be the Mother of all Shai-Hulud to gobble down the Enterprise, up in orbit! :bolian:

But they don't have money....

"runs off and hides far away in the gamma quadrant"

Not if it's flying in the atmosphere low enough...........

After all the JJprize can do almost anything.

Wait, what? People took his commentary on deconstructing the storytelling of prior Trek films and shows as a hint about actual construction of the Enterprise?

I... I just can't anymore. You've defeated me, internet. Well played.

Can I be your Cha'DIch at the De-Modding Ceremony? The Internet is not what it used to be... #Netscape

Here is the summary:
Star Trek Beyond will extend beyond the screen when it opens in some theaters on July 22. According to The Hollywood Reporter, digital cinema technology developer Barco has been tapped by Bad Robot, Paramount Pictures and Skydance to release a special version of Beyond for Barco Escape, described by the trade paper as "a theatrical system aimed at immersing viewers in the experience with three screens stitched together across the front and side walls of a theater." - See more at: http://www.startrek.com/article/beyond-to-extend-beyond-the-screen#sthash.gtE6Fwl8.dpuf

HOLLYWOOD, CA (April 14, 2016) – “Star Trek Beyond” director Justin Lin announced today a first-ever fan event to take place on May 20 in celebration of the series’ milestone 50th Anniversary this year and the film’s release this summer.

The one-time only special event, taking place at the historic Paramount Pictures studio lot, will include the premiere of the newest “Star Trek Beyond” trailer, an exclusive first-look of never before seen footage from the upcoming film, a Q&A with Lin and the cast and crew, special guests appearances, and other surprises. The Q&A will be streamed via Facebook Live.

Said Justin Lin, “As a lifelong fan of Trek, we wanted to do something special for the fans and we couldn’t think of a better way to do that than creating an event dedicated to them in the year that we also come together to celebrate the series’ amazing 50th year.”

So this is part of a 50th special? I wonder who the "special guests" will be....

But we can't wait this long for the trailer. Can't they release a teaser for the trailer now? ;)

I can think of a few possibilities!

One, in particular...

...but would he truly come?

Fan event to smooth over the angst caused by the lawsuit vs Axanar?
Hopefully, the event will spill some beans and give all fans a collective nerd-gasm; and win over the more cynical fans / online trolls.

That is the big question. I can't imagine his pride would get in the way of collecting an appearance fee, but the organisers might feel some trepidation about approaching him.
Ideally we would get all the surviving TOS cast on stage to give their blessing.

And also! - this just occurred to me - Bryan Fuller!
