That was an average Video but very gorgeous. I wish it told a bit more story than it did but man it was beautiful to look at. Loved all the colors.

Apparently, Sledgehammer is the first music video shot entirely with IMAX cameras. They used the Alexa IMAX camera which was also used during the airport fight in Captain America Civil War.

WOW! Love it! This was a fitting end to this thread for me. Now I need to pry myself away from it because it's getting way too spoilerey.
Ya'll have fun storming the castle now, ya'hear?

Can't say I like the whole Rihanna cross marketing thing personally, but I think it's done in the most tasteful way possible.

Rihanna has a huge international fanbase of young people. This music video will expose many new people to Trek. I bet a lot of them don't even know what Star Trek is.

Have you guys seen this TV spot before? It's new to me. It has a bit of footage that I didn't see in the other trailers:

Really?

I can't see how anyone could feel too spoiled at this point. That Jaylah article was hardly spoiler-ey in itself.

The visuals for the music video were, for me, a homage to classic Trek. It was reminescent of the matte paintings for Rigel VII and Starbase 11.

The music is, for me, like much of mainstream music - it has that corporate sameness. I like the music for the Suicide Squad trailers much more. I am of the opinion that musicians had a greater say over the sound of their music, so that they were far more distinctive, decades ago.

The information released so far, which some are calling spoilers, doesn't strike me as having the quality of being a spoiler. It gives names to things known or alluded to, like the name of the planet or the program that the Enterprise is a member of. It answers a few questions which are not critical to the story or plot of the film. I am more concerned about the trailers. There is a worrying trend of trailers giving the story and plot of a film or the "best" parts of a film.

looks like it. mustve been filmed at Trona Peaks?
I think you may be right.

[EDIT: Confirmed?]

I'm pretty sure that clip has been posted here, or one containing essentially the same material. In any case, it's quite recent - within the last day or so.

[Edit: Here.]
