I just used my media server, but I finally did the same thing today. Glorious.I had to plug my laptop into my 60' curved 4k tv to watch the trailer. Looks amazing, are they going to release the movie in 4k? I can't remember.

Yeah I watched it last night on my gaming laptop but I meant I had to do it to see how awesome it looked on 4k tv. Then I watched it another five-ten times. Looked amazing.I just used my media server, but I finally did the same thing today. Glorious.
I'm still waiting for his piece on how all Trek fans hate it. Then again, that might not happen since Abrams didn't direct. NVM.The greatest irony:

TrekCore have a lengthy breakdown and analysis of the second trailer, essentially laying out the whole plot of the film.

SPOILER warning for those who don't want to know much before going in to the theater. You may regret reading this.
It's an extremely well educated and evidenced guess about the plot structure of the film, but it's still just a guess based on information available to anyone willing to do the legwork, so it doesn't constitute a spoiler. If it were we'd have to shut down any kind of speculation and posting of screencaps around here.I regret it exists and that you shared it. Every pre-release discussion will soon be spoiled by people who read that dropping spoilers into every topic, some perhaps with malicious intent, will forego spoiler tags.
We open with Chris Pine’s Captain James T. Kirk recording a Captain’s Log (Stardate 2263.45, for those keeping track).
As we cut to different locations around the Enterprise, Kirk’s log is heard, explaining how the crew has made it three years into the Enterprise’s five year mission and that being in space so long has created some interesting challenges. We see three male crew members eyeing a female officer, another couple making out and second couple having a fight.
The Federation, at this point, has now expanded to more than 200 different worlds and changes have taken place in the lives of the crew. On the bridge, we see Jon Cho‘s Hikaru Sulu has a photograph of his baby daughter placed in the upper left corner of the helm. (A great nod to the original timeline’s future Enterprise B helmsman, Damora Sulu). Meanwhile, Kirk stares into a closet full of nothing but the same gold command tunic, as he records that has been “episodic”.
We’re next with Kirk and Karl Urban’s Dr. Leonard McCoy. It’s Kirk’s birthday and he’s sitting in his quarters with a bottle of Saurian Brandy. Bones, however, has a stolen bottle of Glenlivet that he says he stole from Chekov’s locker.
“You’d think he would drink–,” Kirk begins.
“Vodka?” Bones nods. “Right?”
Kirk and McCoy begin to talk. McCoy knows that Kirk hates celebrating his birthday on the day because it’s the day that Kirk lost his dad (as we saw back in the opening scene of J.J. Abrams’ first Star Trek). Kirk is now one year older than his father ever was. He’s beginning to wonder if he really joined Starfleet because it’s who he is or if it’s because he wants to live up to the legacy of his dad. Together, the friends clink their Scotch against a third glass in memory of George Kirk.

Fair enough. I do want to know more as well. I'm just less interested in the villains than I was before.Yeah, but they soon took the stinger out of the Borg. I'm thinking of an alien power so strong it makes the Borg seem impotent.
The trailer does interest me to the point where I want to know more!
About 80% of digital film files are projected at 2k from a 2k master taken from cameras with 4K resolution or higher (like The Martian). A good portion of 4K UHD Blu-ray Discs are uprezzed from a 2k digital intermediate (DI). Short answer: no better than 50/50 chance it's screened in 4K.I don't see why they wouldn't.
If I'm not mistaken Beyond is being released in Barco Escape venues, which features a 4K laser projector at its center.About 80% of digital film files are projected at 2k from a 2k master taken from cameras with 4K resolution or higher (like The Martian).
