Spoilers Star Trek: Beyond - END CREDITS

I saw that too!
Yeah, I leaned over and mentioned to my buddy that guy probably had to take a ration of ribbing for having that name and working on a Star Trek movie - and my friend speculated that he was probably named after the character.

I only noticed the green hand (and the Enterprise).

The one thing that really caught me at my showing was how most of the audience sat there for the fly through and tributes but the second that Adalay or Riannya song came on, everybody immediately and simultaneously got up to leave the theater.

Her name is Rihanna. (Actually Robyn Rihanna Fenty, which was how she was listed in the writing credits for "Sledgehammer," though the same credits said "Performed by Rihanna." Interesting how that works.)

I'm not normally a fan of her work, but I actually thought that song was pretty good.

Yeah... not my style of music, but I kinda like the melody. I think some of the lyrics don't mesh well with the music, though, since they're stressed on weird syllables. And yes, we get that you hit a wall. You don't need to tell us that many times.

Though not a song I care for too much, Sledgehammer is the first song from Rihanna in a long time that I didn't consider forgettable noise. And it kind of does flow pretty good with the promos for the movie.

When I saw it, most of the audience got up and left during the ending effects sequence, therefore completely missing both the tributes to Nimoy and Yelchin and the Rihanna song.

Kor

I usually never stay for movie credits, if I want to hear a movie song there are better ways.
I barely even stay when there are Marvel after credit scenes.

I did stay for Beyond up to a point but not until the end.

I honestly would love to see a video tribute montage of the TOS crew (across TV and the 1979 - 1994 movies) and their various adventures and struggles but put to this song. To me it'd be a beautiful way of present tastes honoring the path they laid out for the current crew.

I hated the way they put the title of the film at the very end

That's a fairly common trend these days, but it goes back a ways. The earliest film I remember doing that was RoboCop 2.

How times change... George Lucas got in trouble with the unions for postponing the credits (other than the title) to the end of Star Wars. Now the majority of films run the credits at the end.

I always stay for the end credits. I enjoyed the Rihanna song and the Michael Giacchino score surrounding it. Even on home video, Trek always plays until the Paramount logo fades. All those people made the movie, they deserve the read.

Considering how long credits go these days, these weren't all that lengthy.

"What? That's it? No post credit scene?!" I love people.

Yeah I wish they'd had done a title card like the other two, I kept waiting for it to happen. I found that a little distracting.

The title card sequences of the first two films were fantastic, this one really could have done with one.
