Star Trek a suprise at Comic Con?

they got asked about the new Trek movie at Comic Con and here's what was said

CS: The "Star Trek" movie you guys have been working on has been fairly low-key and kept very quiet. Are you guys going to try to bust something out at Comic-Con for that?
Kurtzman: We are trying to get our act together here in the last moments. We're so focused on editing the movie that we've forgotten about promoting it. We're not sure what we're going to release it with. We're trying to figure it out. We're going to be there for "Fringe" and "Eagle Eye" and for other things. We're all going to be there, so I'm sure we'll figure out something before we get there.

However we can, e-mails or letters, we should all make it very clear to Abrams, Orci, and Kurtzman that we are so eager to see pictures now that if some AREN'T released at Comic-Con, we will boycott the movie.

G4 Comic Con preview

I'm watching G4 comic con preview and they are on the Enterprise-D bridge at the Star Trek experience in Vegas. They said that Trek XI is the most anticipated and most talked about thing this year and they are putting a lot of emphasis on Star Trek , so not only will Paramount be there and Star Trek, but it sounds like it's going to be huge. This will be the true test if they show a trailer and it rocks peoples world like Iron Man did last year then we know Trek is back.

I'm guessing at best, they'll have a lengthened version of the teaser, which hopefully will find its way online.

Or, we could just a few still shots, I suppose.

I'm sure they'll have SOMETHING at least. Probably not as significant an announcement as last year's Comic-Con, but I can't imagine them not doing anything. Got to get it nice and fresh in the public's minds and pump all the Trek fans up.

Maybe they'll show the shots where sfx will be inserted, this way you'll get a 5 minute clip of a placard saying - "Insert FX shot here".

I bet they'll keep the Enterprise secret for now. We'll probably get a clip of the "shipping out" scene mentioned at AICN, and maybe a shot of the USS Kelvin orbiting the raging star. They'll probably keep the Enterprise under wraps until the final trailer (maybe only a partial peek), if not the film itself.

I wonder if the footage that Abrams chose to show AICN is intended to be part of the first trailer.

It seems to me that Harry at AICN saw the footage a while ago, and just now got permission from Abrams to write his report on it. If so - Does this mean that something may be coming soon. Maybe a surprise at ComicCon?

Interesting theory that what Harry saw might really be material for the next trailer. Given that what he saw was apparently a fully completed scene, it's quite possible.

Next question is when Paramount plans to 'officially' release this new trailer (if one really exits).
